I stepped into the shower, the warm water running down my back. I rinsed the smell of sweat away and scrubbed my hair.

After I stepped out, I grabbed a clean towel. It felt so good to be clean again. I wrapped my hair in a towel. I looked in the mirror and giggled; I literally looked like Frankenstein's bride!

I quickly realized I had no clean clothes to wear. Tightly securing the towel around my chest, I peeped out the door. Reuben wasn't there. I shrugged. Unconcerned, I tip-toed around the RV looking for something I could wear for the time being. Just then Reuben came back inside, looking tired and sweaty. His muscle tee showed off his toned arms and chest. My breath caught in my throat, and suddenly I felt silly and self-conscious in my towel and head-turban. He took one look at me and he cracked up laughing.

“What are you doing?" he asked, a snort of laughter escaping his lips. I glared at him.

“I was looking for some clean clothes to wear." He furrowed his eyebrows, then snapped his fingers. Let's just run to the store and get you something to wear." He already had the key into the ignition.

“Wait! We..we can't go the store. We..we have to stay here." I was getting nervous. He still didn't know my awful history. Call me paranoid, but if the cops see me, the only clothes I'll be wearing is an orange jumpsuit!

Reuben looked at me with curiosity written all over his face, but he didn't ask about it.

Then I remembered the sewing supplies I had spotted earlier. I snatched it up and went straight for the curtains.

You don't mind if I use these, do you?" I asked, already tugging down the curtains. He groaned playfully.

“I knew that's what you were gonna do. But go right ahead. I have, like, two other sets of curtains anyway." Lucky for me the curtains were yellow with blue polka dots on them. I went into his room, closed the door and got busy.
