We arrived at the line to the Terrible Tower of Terror. My excitement vanished and turned into fear as I blinked up at the menacing structure.

“I-I don't think this is such a great idea." I warned. The pit of my gut filled with nervous butterflies. Er, no. Nervous bats.

“Aww, don't be such a wimp! C'mon! It'll be fun!" He stepped up in line, but I stayed put. Ben just rolled his eyes and dragged me along with him. After what seemed like hours of just stepping and waiting, stepping and waiting, we reached the front of the line. The man working at the gate wore a bored look on his face.

“Please step under the height scale." he deadpanned in a monotone. I slid under the height scale and I just hit the height requirement. I was incredibly short, at a whopping 5 ft 4". Oh joy! Not.

I waited anxiously while Ben stood under the height scale. He was well past the requirements, and I envied his height advantage on me.

I stepped into the cart and Been slid in beside me. The man lowered the safety bar in front of us.

“Keep hands, feet and objects inside the cart at all times. Enjoy the ride." he recited, not cracking a smile. Ben tapped his foot impatiently.

“Come on, come on, start the ride already!" Ben whined. I chuckled at his childlike behavior, and he looked down at me, grinning.

     “Are you ready?!" he asked."

“Well, it doesn't look like I have a choice, now do I?" I muttered, gripping the handlebar. Now it was Ben's turn to chuckle. But before he could say anything in response, the cart rumbled and let out a sigh of resistance. Then, we surged forward. We made the slow incline to the top of the roller coaster. My breath hitched in my throat and I could hear Ben whooping and hollering beside me. God, take me now, I pleaded, but it was too late. We rocketed down the ride with my stomach in my throat.
