We pulled up to the parking lot reserved for RV's and he put the car in park. I shot him a thankful smile.

“Thanks so much for taking me here." I was jittery with excitement as I unbuckled my seatbelt and hopped out of the passengers seat.

“My pleasure. I used to love coming here when I was a kid." he answered fondly. I skipped to the towering gates, Ben hustling to keep up. I gazed up at the giant sign that read “Daringdale Amusement Park". My heart skipped a beat as I trotted through the gates. I looked back to see Ben smiling at me with amusement written all over his face, his hands stuffed in his pockets.

I spotted the Merry Go Round and looked at Ben with pleading eyes. He nodded his head, giving me permission. After years of hiding, I finally felt okay with just going out in the open without worrying who was gonna see me. I could start my life over in a new town in a new state.

I hoisted myself up onto a yellow and pink pegasus and wrapped my arms around her neck. Ben sat on the tiger in front of me and turned himself backwards so he was facing me. He wobbled a little and made a huge deal of nearly falling off his steed, and I snorted with laughter.

Round and round we went, my hair billowing in the breeze, my surroundings whizzing by in a chaotic frenzy. I closed my eyes and imagined that I was a bird, flying fast and free, without a care in the world.

The ride stopped, and Ben and I stumbled of the ride, our heads spinning with dizziness. I tripped over my foot and Ben caught me by the hand in the knick of time, right before I fell face first onto the concrete.

“Whoa, there Anova. We don't want any injuries before we ride the Terrible Tower of Terror!" he said, raising a brow.

“The wha?" I asked, taking a gulp. Ben smirked.

“Only the biggest, tallest, most terrifying ride in all of Daringdale." he said, pumping his fists in the air. I gasped, and I could feel my face light up brighter than Times Square on New Year's Eve. Ben grabbed me by the hand and we raced off to the monstrous ride that loomed above us.
