Sam doesn't know exactly what they are fighting. Their soul tells them it's called a Snowdrake. But to their eyes it's some sort of weird bird thing. Sam pushes the fight button and lands multiple punches on the foe. But it's Health is high.
The Snowdrake tells a joke as it pulls Sam into the battle zone.
"Fights you in cold blood."
Sam gets it, cause they are in Snowdin and it's cold here. Pretty lame joke. The Snowdrake sends some sort of blizzard attack at them. The attack is pretty random and unorganized, Sam moves to the right and dodges them all. Sam pushes fight again and lands more punches. The Snowdrake survives by a thread.
"Chill out...."
Another wave of blizzard attacks. Sam dodges this one with ease too. Snowdrakes don't seem to be a challenge. They push fight and end it. The monster turns to dust and the battle ends.
Sam walks forward, wondering how long the Underground is. They run into a giant cardboard box shaped like a small house. The box has a sign on the front, so Sam reads it.
"You OBSERVE THE WELL-CRAFTED SENTRY STATION. WHO COULD HAVE BUILT THIS YOU PONDER. I BET IT WAS THAT VERY FAMOUS ROYAL GUARDSMAN! (NOTE: NOT YET A VERY FAMOUS ROYAL GUARDSMAN.)"
Definitely Papyrus. Sam shrugs and continues down the path. Further into the forest, they run into another sign and building. This building wasn't made of cardboard though, it was actually wood this time. Must be another one of those sentry stations.
Sam reads the sign and is shocked at what it says. "ABSOLUTELY NO MOVING!!" How exactly can you stop someone from moving, ha! Sam loudly walks toward the wooden sentry station. As they reach the sentry station, a dog with a dog treat in it's mouth slowly pokes their head out of the sentry station. Their eyes shift back and forth as they speak.
"Did something move? Was it my imagination? I can only see moving things. H...hey! I can't stop shivering all of a sudden. Who... who's there!?"
Sam's soul returns to their chest as a battle begins. The enemy is called Doggo. They seem to have two large knifes as a weapon. No big deal, Sam pushes the fight button. Landing a few hits on Doggo, they get ready for it's counter attack.
Doggo's knifes glow blue as they spread across the battle zone. Sam can't Dodge. But they try anyway. The knife hits Sam and they flinch as their health lowers. The buttons return and they slam the fight button, finally striking down Doggo.
The dog turns to dust and the usual gold drops and they feel LOVE flow into them. They feel their soul grow stronger. They are at least 7 times stronger than when they first fell. Killing Toriel as boosted their LOVE significantly.
The battle ends and Sam keeps walking. Passing two pieces of burnt dog treats laying in the snow. They run into another split path. One path leads up, one goes further right. The difference this time is a sign in the middle.
Sam slides on the ice and reaches the sign in the middle of the area. The sign reads; North: Ice. South: Ice. West: Ice. East: Snowdin Town and ice.
Interesting. Sam doesn't go east just yet. They decide to head north a little, to see if there's anything interesting besides ice. Their hunch was right when they encounter a dead end. With a talking snowman.
"Hello. I am a snowman. I cannot move. Traveller, if you could..."
Sam doesn't let the snowman finish, they pull a piece of snow off the magic snowman and take a look at it. It seems to have the capability to heal like the monster candy! The snowman speaks up.
"Oh me, oh my. What are you doing? Soon there won't be any of me left!"
Sam pulls off another snowman piece. The snowman is slowly sinking to the ground.
"S-stop... please..."
Sam takes a final piece of snow, and the talking snowman crumbles to the ground. Whats left is simply a pile of snow with a carrot on top. I guess going north was interesting after all. But Sam goes back down and take the right path now. Towards Snowdin Town.
They move further down the path and run into Sans and papyrus. They are standing on the other side of a giant square in the ground. Sam seems to have stepped in the area as they are talking.
"YOU'RE SO LAZY!! YOU WERE NAPPING ALL NIGHT!!"
"I think that's called.... sleeping."
"EXCUSES, EXCUSES!"
Papyrus then turns around and notices Sam's presence. They change their expression and prepare to give some kind of long speech.
"OH-HO! THE HUMAN ARRIVES! IN ORDER TO STOP YOU... MY BROTHER AND I HAVE CREATED SOME PUZZLES! I THINK YOU WILL FIND THIS ONE...."
Sam doesn't let Papyrus finish speaking, they instead move toward the middle of the giant square towards them. Papyrus finishes his sentance slowly with his expression changing.
"QUITE SHOCKING! FOR YOU SEE, THIS IS.... THE, INVISIBLE..."
Papyrus begins to sweat as they become confused with Sam's actions. Clearly they messed up the puzzle somehow.
"HMMM... YOU MUST BE HAVING CULTURE SHOCK. YOU SEE, WHERE I COME FROM, ITS A LOVING TRADITION... TO SUFFER THROUGH HORRIBLE PUZZLES FOR NO REASON. SO UH... JUST WALK BACK THERE... AND..."
Sam instead walks forward. They are now in front of Papyrus. Papyrus is clearly nervous and confused. Then he gives up.
"SIGH... WHY COULDN'T WE GET A HUMAN THAT LIKES PUZZLES???" Papyrus runs away leaving Sans with Sam alone with the square puzzle. Sam decides to ignore Sans and continue after Papyrus. Crossing a small wooden bridge over a gap and ignoring some sort of golf fame involving snowballs.
They run into Papyrus and Sans again. How did Sans even get here so fast? Very suspicious. This new area was like the previous puzzle, there is a small square I'm the middle. But instead, on the square is a piece of paper.
"HUMAN!! I HOPE YOU'RE READY FOR..."
Papyrus then notices there is no puzzle in the area. They yell at their brother Sans at this mistake.
"SANS!! WHERE'S THE PUZZLE!!!"
"Its right there. On the ground. Trust me, there's no way they'll skip this one."
Sam does skip it though. They walk around the piece of paper without even checking what is on it. Papyrus looks a bit furious at this.
"SANS!!! THAT DID NOTHING!!!"
"Whoops" Sans chuckles. "Knew I should of put down junior jumble instead."
"WHAT?!? JUNIOR JUMBLE!? FINALLY, SOMETHING WE CAN BOTH AGREE ON." Papyrus then leaves again.
Sam follows Papyrus again. Papyrus runs pretty fast. The next area is small. It has a letter on the ground, a plate of frozen spaghetti, and a microwave. There is also a save point here. Sam saves and checks the red text again. "15 left." It changed! Sam must of done something. But what?
