Chapter Twenty: Flowey's Tale

Mettaton is transformed into a huge robot. With arms, a cannon, armour, and wings. The full package. Mettaton NEO blocks the way. But with Sam's current state, Mettaton's true form is no match for their human soul. They finish Mettaton with a single hit.

"G-GUESS YOU DON'T WANNA JOIN MY FAN CLUB...?" Mettaton says jokingly before they explode in a flash of blinding light.

A intense amount of LOVE and EXP flow into Sam's soul. They feel themselves absorb the energy. They are at least 19 times stronger than their first fall. The ending is near, they can feel it.

They back track a little and end up back inside the hotel shop with Burger Pants. They buy a few sandwiches with all the gold they saved from slaying monsters. Their pockets are filled with noodles, the pie, and mostly snowman pieces. But make room for the sandwiches.

With all the best food at the ready, Sam returns to the area where Mettaton died. They keep walking north until they reach a long hallway. The hallway reminds them of the time Toriel had them walk down the dark corridor by themselves. Its been a while since then, hasn't it?

Sam eventually reaches an elevator with one button leading up. They push the button and endure a long motionless ride. Everything ie quiet, everyone is dead. When Sam steps off the elevator they find a save point. The save point tells them their location is the castle.

The same castle they've seen when they was with Monster Kid? Sam has just realised how far they have walked. Surely the exit to the Underground is close. They walk through the castle and down a long path. There are buildings in the distance, deserted castle relics. There is an elevator as well, but it is currently being used. So Sam is forced to walk.

Sam eventually enters the main castle and find themselves in a strikingly similar eviroment. It is an exact copy of Toriel's little house in the Ruins! They save at a save point in front of the house and head inside. They see the similar stairway that Toriel's house had. But the  stairs are locked by two padlocks.

The whisper in their head turns into a voice as a message sounds clearly.

"There are two keys. He leaves them by the kitchen and the hallway."

Sam speaks out loud to the voice, asking them who they are. But getting no response. Is this the source of the headaches? Is there a monster inside of them? Sam turns left and walks through the living room. When suddenly, an old friend appears.

"Howdy, Chara!" Flowey the flower yells out. "You finally made it home. Remember when we used to play here? Hee Hee Hee. Boy! Today's gonna be just as fun."

Flowey makes a sinister face as he disappears. So, Flowey survived after all. But why did he call them Chara? That is not their name. Sam walks into the kitchen and finds a key on the counter. They place the key on their phone's key-chain as they are compelled to open the fridge.

"No chocolate."

The voice was indeed right. There were no chocolate or foods at all in the fridge. Sam left the kitchen and through the living room again to head for the next key. Then Flowey came back.

"I remember when I first woke up here, in the garden. I was so scared. I couldn't feel my arms and legs... my entire body had turned into a flower! Mom! Dad! Somebody help me, I screamed. But nobody came."

Sam walked past the stairway and into the hall. Peering into the first room, they realized it was just like the room Toriel gave them. The only noticeable change is this one has two beds, and two presents on the floor. Seeing as there are no monsters here, Sam opened the presents.

Inside, they found a heart shaped locket and a knife. A real knife, not some toy from the ruins. They place the locket over their neck and replace the frying pan with the knife. They grip it tightly and walk down the rest of the hall.
