The Next Step: Riley's Journey

Chapter 5

Emily's POV

I can't believe me and my family chased my own sister away. I just can't believe it.

Everyone in A-troupe is calling James and Riley like crazy. We must have left at least 100 messages for each of them. Kate and Chris were trying to calm Debra down, but they too were very worried. When Debra had calmed down enough to speak, she turned to me and asked,

"Did anything happen with you and Riley that would make her run away?"

Everyone turned to look at me. I froze. C'mon think Emily, think.

"Well, she, ummm, she had sort of an argument with my parents"

I might as well make myself the good guy, right?

Kate quickly ran into her office to call my parents. I followed after her, then she put it on speaker.

" Hi, this is Miss Kate of The Next Step Studio, is this Riley's parents?"

Mom: Yes this is Riley's mother. Is there some sort of problem?

Kate: Well, it appears Riley has run away with her boyfriend, James.

The phone went silent.

Mom: Pardon me?

Moms voice sounded full of sadness and worry

Kate: James left his family a note that states he and Riley have run away together.

More silence. I guess my mom was just letting everything sink in.

Mom: I'm on my way to the studio now.

With that she hung up.
