Ch 3: Hiccups Past

Hiccups POV

After 4th period me and Astrid went our lockers. Surprisingly we have all our classes together except 6th because she has track and theatre. We walked beside one another passing through the group of people in there little groups with one another. "So what have you been upto lately Astrid since I've been gone?" I ask breaking the silence. "Well I've been training alot for track and field, got some medals and school records under my belt also I think I still have the schools 40 yard dash time." Astrid says like it was no big deal at all. But to me I was astonished by her accomplishments. "Wow !!! That's really cool Astrid when's your next meet I would really love to come and watch you win" I tell her eager to know. As we go to are lockers she answered me and before opening her locker "Well next week I believe we'll be having practice but I don't know when is my first meet going to be this year yet." She says opening her locker and putting her stuff in it for lunch. "Hmmm well I'll just come after school and watch you practice then Astrid" I tell her still eager to watch her. I don't know why but I just wanted to see her not because ideas interested in track but because I'm  interested in seeing Astrid. But I couldn't let her know that cause that would be kinda weird though since I just got back and want to spend time with her so much. "Oh ok then that's cool" she says with casual smile and we left for lunch.

Astrid's POV

When we went to our lockers I noticed that people were looking at me and Hiccup. It was weird to be walking around with Hiccup though cause he doesn't know that I am kinda the school bad girl in a way where no one really wants to be any where near this type of bad girl. But Hiccup didn't know that and I don't think he would care because how he's treating me right now is something I'm really new to really from anyone new really. Like there's Ruff and Tuff and Fish but they have been kinda avoiding me since I turned into a cold person. Mainly due to Hiccup leaving that's when I just completely changed how was around people for some reason I was angry and stuff at life for taking my best friend from me to go to Hollywood. But yeah all is good now but what I'm still can't believe is how Hiccup changed so much after just three freaking years away from Berk!!!! Like as I glance at him as we walk to the cafeteria I can't but help but notice he no longer has a boyish look more of a young adult look a real handsome one but his hair is still a brown mess but I always loved that of him. But really his green eyes look like they just sparkle when I look into them it's almost hypnotic oh my God's how can Hiccup be so Hot in just 3 years I don't know it's just so crazy. Huh he's changed so much that girls are so going to chase after him and I don't think he'll have a problem talking to them since he ain't shy anymore.

As we entered the cafeteria again I noticed that girls were staring at him and were also glaring at me. Until one of them said "Hey handsome you new?" She says stopping Hiccup to answer the question. "Well yeah actually and thanks you look kinda cute to." Hiccup says like it didn't really mean anything to say. Like really Hiccup first day of school you are already talking to girls with ease not thinking of your friend Astrid who had a crush on you as well when we were kids. Wait what??? Why am I so worried about Hiccup getting with a girl??? that was just a childhood crush right??? "No it wasn't " inner me said "You two are supposed to be together like you always dreamed about when you were in 8th grade dummy." My inner me says scolding me at the idea of it just being a childhood crush. "Uhhh just shut up me I don't know how to feel about Hiccup being back and I dont even know if he likes me or not." I tell inner me. That's when I was brought back by Hiccups voice "well I'll catch you later next time, Me and my friend here need to catch up alot" he says pulling me by the hand to where Ruff was waving to us to come. I looked back and saw how the girls jaws dropped as Hiccup did that leaving the girl behind. I blushed by the sudden contact as he grabbed my hand as he pulled me. As we got to the table Ruff was grinning devilishly at us and I just blushed even more and said "Hiccup can you let go of my hand please?" I ask him, and he noticed as well and blushed slightly "oh sorry Astrid I forgot" he says scratching the back of his neck. We sat and looked to Ruff who was smiling "sooooo you changed alot Hiccup" she says eyeing him up and down with a grin. "Well yeah I think I did I still feel like the same Hiccup though." He says with a chuckle. "Hollywood was fun but I felt like I belonged in Berk not there." He says adding on. "Oh yeah that's right how was your time there?" Ruff questioned. "Well it was good I guess, I met new people and stuff and some new friends and people and a girl to but that's the past." Hiccup says but what is this a girl. What does this mean? Does he have girlfriend Still? Has he moved on yet???? All these questions and more flew through my head like crazy till Ruff asked, "Girl what does that mean Hiccup??" She asks with a wiggled eyebrow and a wink to me after she asked it. I just glared daggers at her as she asked that. "Well ahem what do you want to know?" Hiccup responds back to Ruff. "Well isn't it obvious me and Astrid want to know the status of this girl you met" Ruff says reluctantly to him. Hiccup looked at Ruff then to me and I just blushed at his gaze since he was giving me a look as if he was asking me if I really want to know. I put on a brave face and said "Well go on we are waiting Hiicup" I say with my best straight face I have right now. Why do I feel like this right now it feels like I'm afraid. feeling I never fear anything I'm Astrid the fearless. "Well this girl I'm talking about she was my girlfriend" Hiccup says with a blushed face. 'Whatttttttttttt I'm going to kill you Hiccup for being with some one then me!!!!' Inner me screamed in my head. But deep down in the pit of my stomach I felt jealousy and sadness that Hiccup has Girlfriend. "Whoa really Hiccup a girlfriend what's her name? how is she? How long have you two been together?" Ruff leans foward interested in knowing more. Flustered by it Hiccup leaned back and took a breath before saying. "Ok first of all her name is Heather" he simply states with a sad face for some reason. I asked myself why is Hiccup sad saying her name? "He probably misses her that's why Astrid" inner me says to me. Hmm seems right he does seem sad he must miss her huh I'm a fool for thinking he'll like me. "Oh I see what was she like?" Ruff asks again. "Well she is probably my age right now 17 she's pretty with black hair and green eyes that I used to love and she was mostly interested into most things I liked as well and stuff we met in theatre class one day and we became friends then we started dating after revealing that we have feelings for one another." Hiccup says but I got on to something that I heard. "You said you used to love looking into her eyes Hiccup. What does that mean?" I asked finally getting interested in the conversation. He looked at me with sad eyes that made me feel sorry for him for some reason. Then he looked away looking down at his lunch. "I say that cause ........ cause we aren't together anymore after I left" Hiccup says. Both me and Ruff look at one another with worried eyes and concern for are friend. "What happened Hiccup, did something happen?" Ruff asks more kindly about the situation. "Yea something did we were happy with one another and loved one another for those 2 years. I even thought she would be like my soul mate or something once, but when I told her that I was moving back to Berk she like freaked out and got mad. And on the last day of me being in Cali I went to say goodbye to her but when I got there I found out she already moved on. Making out with some guy I never knew and after that I just left not wanting to endure more pain I already had." Hiccup says to us finally looking up to us with a sad look. "Hiccup uhhh I don't know what to say it must have been hard for you." I tell him putting my hand on his shoulder. He suddenly puts his hand over mine and says "thanks Astrid but I'm over her now it just hurts saying what happen again." Hiccup tells me and after I shot daggers at Ruff for making Hiccup go through that again. "Yea I'm sorry to Hiccup I shouldn't have asked." Ruff finally apologizes to him. "It's ok you didn't know" he simply says. That's when the bell suddenly rang signaling for us to go to class. "So uhhh I'll see you later Ruff me and Astrid got science next so I'll catch you later after school?" Hiccup asks "Yea sure Hiccup" Ruff says as she heads her separate way while me and Hiccup go to class. "I'm sorry Hiccup again for making you tell your story in Cali again Hiccup" I say really sadden by his reaction to it all. He then turned to me and said "it's ok Astrid really don't feel bad all that matters now is that I'm back at Berk to have a clean start again." He says with a smile to me that made me feel butterflies in my stomach. "Ok Hiccup just making sure....." I tell him then we entered class.

-After school
Hiccups POV

As theater class entered I automatically headed to the track only to be stopped by Ruffs raspy voice. "Hey Hiccup where you going I thought we were hanging out??" She says but then I heard a male version of her voice. "That's not Hiccup he's short and skinny and not handsome. That guy is obviously not Hiccup." He says I turn only to see Tuffnut standing next to Ruff arguing. So I jogged to them and said "Tuff it's really me I'm back" I say happy to see Tuff. "Oh really prove it then Mr.Stud" Tuff says to me and I just sigh. "Huhhh ok you had a chicken named 'the chicken' and you talked to him everyday when you brought him over or when we went to your house. Is that Good enough Tuff." I say looking at him. Tuffs eyes widen as he realized it was really me. "HICCUP!!!!" He says squeezing me in a tight hug. "Ahhhh ok Tuff stop, Ruff help please....." I say and she automatically responded in grabbing him off of me. "Uhh that's better." I say out loud holding my sides. "So we still up to hang Ruff?" I ask her. "Yeah where we going to hang ??" She asks me. "Oh just the bleachers and stuff you want a join Tuff?" I ask him. "Nahhh I got practice for the Football team I'll catch you later Ruff at the house." He says leaving with his gear and back pack. "Oh ok see ya bro. So I'm gueasing you want to go to the track to watch Astrid Huh????" Ruff wiggle her eye brows as she said that. I suddenly blushed as she said and my only response was to say"nooo......" I say shyly "hahaha it's ok Hiccup I knew you had a crush on Astrid ever since we were kids that's why I was surprised to hear you had a girl in Cali." Ruff nudges my arm. "Yeah alright its true I still do I'm just realizing I still do by the way." I tell Ruff as walked. "It's ok Hiccup your secret is safe with me." She says patting me on the back.

Once at bleachers we sat and watched as the track girls got ready for practice. And what I noticed was what Astrid was wearing it was really short spandex shorts black, and a sports bra. I gulp at the sight cause really she really developed some curves last time I saw her like really wow just couldn't stop from staring. Until Ruff snapped her fingers in my face and said "Hey stop eye goggling Astrid she ain't no eye candy mister" she says looking at me with a disappointing look. "What I wasn't eye goggling her." I say trying to defend my actions. "Mhmmmm sure you were." She says doubting my answer. I watched on a bit more till she said "So Hiccup let's talk again about your time in Cali how was it?" She simply asks me. I turned to her and said "well at first I was shy of just being at a New school but like I said when I met Heather everything in my life change for the better. I started getting more confident and stuff  I even started working out more like boxing and that stuff. But yeah it was fun at the beginning not the end" I tell her. "Hmmm kool I see." She says so I took this chance to switch the tables now "So how have you been since I left? how about Astrid and the Gang?" I ask and suddenly her face went to a frown. "Well let's see well me and Tuff are the same still been hanging around but now i usually hang with Astrid or by myself since well the gang kinda is not what it is like anymore." She says with a sad tone "What do you mean Ruff?" I ask her. "Well for starters ever since Astrid turned completely silent and stopped talking to us after you left. While Fish well started wrestling and left for the wrestling team now. And well this won't be a suprise but Snot is still a jerk but prefers to be a total ass with the jocks" Ruff tells me. Wow looks like everyone is growing apart now that really is sad to hear. "Oh that sucks I see" Is what I could only say to her. "Yup but I have a faint feeling that all will be better now that are Hiccup is back." She says to me. I smiled and instinctively hugged her "thanks Ruff it's nice to know that even after these past 3 years your still like my sister." I tell her and she hugs back."no problem Hiccup I always wanted a little brother who wasn't annoying as Tuff" she says as we separate.

We ended up talking about how Ruff was been doing since I left mainly said she has been doing rugby and stuff. No suprise cause she likes violence and how she really is tired of the group being separated and stuff like that again. We watched as the runners race around the track during the practice for some time my eyes followed Astrids body as she ran oh god So Hot.  I would receive a nudge in the shoulder and I would receive a grin from Ruff and would end up laughing about it after. But when the practice ended I went to go and say hey to Astrid but she ignored me amd walked away. I looked back to Ruff and she saw what happened as well and just gave me the sign to go chase after her so that's what I did why was Astrid not responding to me untold her I going to hang out with her after she was done what happened???
