Ch 58: The Lovers Look part 1.

Astrid's POV

As the day came to the close I was already on the track practicing with my team. It was going all good of course but I was really hoping to see Hiccup. I wanted to see if he was ready again to play. I know I sound like I'm pushing his recovery I just want the best for him.

I support him I just want him to be safe about it. As the team starts it's jog onto the field I notice Hiccup leading the group from the front jogging to the field to do warm ups. He positioned himself onto the field with the team doing warm ups.

One of my teammates came to me on the track and said "Oh wow Hiccups back." Melissa said to me as we started to jog around the track watching the team warm up. "Yeah I'm surprised as you are that he's on the field getting ready."

As practice started to commence Hiccup went to the squad of other quarterbacks to practice drills. As he went through the drills with the other Quarterbacks, Gobber and Gothi walked up to him and told him something that made me see something that I never saw before. Hiccup in a mad fury through his helmet onto the grass turf and shouted, "What do you mean !?!?!?!?" Gothi wrote something onto the board and Gobber translated.

I already stopped what I was doing so did my friend Melissa as we watched the whole confrontation go down. "What are they saying?" Melissa asked me. "I don't know but it's probably not good." I say as I see Hiccup storm off the field towards my way. As he got closer me I tried to call his name.

"Hiccup what's wrong????" I ask him as he passed but he just stormed off past me. I watched as his angry eyes glanced at me before he left. I looked at him for a second then to Melissa who gave me a confused look. That's when I averted my eyes to Gothi and Gobber who watched as well Hiccup storm off.

I jogged to Gothi and Gobber and asked, "What happen????" I asked them. Gothi looked up to me and scribbled onto her little board and showed Gobber. "I'm sorry lassy but Hiccup can't play anytime soon......" Gobber says.

"Why?????" I asked back confused on the whole situation. Gothi then wrote down on her board only for Gobber to say it once again for her. "Hiccup is great player but we can't risk getting him hurt it's only right if we do this." Gobber said trying to reason with me.

Gahhh I can't disagree with them but then again I want Hiccup to play since he loves football. "Huh........ I can't disagree with you Gothi I know your wise in doing this but this hurts Hiccup." I tell her. She just hummed yes to me, "don't worry Astrid we didn't kick him from the team he'll be back up for us again if we need him."

"Go to him lass, he needs you right now." Gobber said as he looked at me. I just nodded and jogged after Hiccup hoping for me to catch up to him. I saw him stomp away into the locker room. I knew it was the guys room but I didn't care I wanted to talk to him and make sure he was ok.

As I turned the corner of the locker room I saw him sitting on one of the benches looking down. I could see he had his hands covering his face. I went to him and put my hand on his shoulder. "Hiccup....." I said grabbing his attention. He looked up to me with sad eyes and with tears growing.

"What?......... Astrid....." he said back to me not wanting to look at me as he averted his eyes from mine. "I just came to see if your ok ....." I say not knowing what to say. "Of course I'm not Ok!!!!" Hiccup burst out to me making me look at him in shock. "I get knocked out one night and wake up to the next day that I'm not the starting quarterback in all of games the playoffs!!!" He says angry as he looks at me in angry tears.

"Hiccup Gothi and Gobber are scared you might get hurt if you play too soon..... please understand that this is for your health.." I tell him trying to calm him down. "But Astrid please I need to play.... ever since I started playing Football it's like my life change and I started loving it...." Hiccup says to me with tears falling from his eyes.

I just hugged him and tightly at that fact. "Hiccup, I can relate to what your feeling. I know what it is like to feel like your being held back from injury that you feel is nothing. But trust me babe, your still ok the team and your going with them all the way as long as they win, and Gobber told me if they need you they'll play you." I tell him as I now release my hug looking into his eyes.

As he did Hiccup gave me that look like if he was agreeing with me without saying a word. Those green emerald eyes made me feel better a bit of this all. "Ok Astrid I get it....." he says to me. "Good babe I just don't want to see you hurt... no one does." I tell him giving him a nice smile.

As I said that he gently grabbed me by the hand and kissed before saying, "I don't know what I would do with out you babe." He says. I just blushed a bit and said, "I don't know ethier babe". I told him back.

Afterwards that Hiccup went back to the field to practice since he still wants to play and be part of the team. I just went and watched him as he did practice with his teammates. The game is in a couple days so I hope it all goes good since it is the playoffs.
