Chapter 1

~Tris' POV~

Beep. Beep. Beep

My annoying alarm clock rings. First day of school. Ugh. I have been enjoying my school free summer with my friends. Hanging at the beach, just chilling but now it's back to school!

I shut of my clock and pick up my phone. I just received a text message from my best friend Christina.

I unlock my phone to view the full message.

Rise and shine. school time! see you there!! (:

I instantly reply back :

See you there(:

I force myself out of bed. I make my bed and head over to my closet. I pick out a plain blue tank top, black shorts with frays at the end and a black sweater. I put on my clothes and leave my sweater unzipped.

I go to my washroom. I brush my teeth, then I apply some mascara and eyeliner, Christina taught me. Once I finish I grab my phone and my bag and head downstairs. I find my mother and father in the kitchen.

"Morning Mom" I say walking in

"Morning Dad"

I sit down in front of a bowl of cereal .

"Morning Beatrice." they both say.

"Wait, where's Caleb?" I ask, he is always awake for school.

"Oh yeah he left early, he said you were too slow." my Mom says.

That makes more sense. Caleb is always early for school.

"Oh and Beatrice remember I told you I was going to have to use your car today." my mom says.

"That's right I forgot, I have no ride now. I'll just walk or ask Christina." I say

I eat my cereal while I text.

"Actually I already asked Marcus if his son could drive you to school." my mom says while she make coffee.

I almost spit out my cereal.

"What?? Tobias?? No! I would rather walk." I say I hate him he hates me. It's been like that since we were 3. Tobias is his real name it's just he hates it so he told me to keep it a secret. Besides why would I want to be in a car thousands of slutty girls have been in.

"I'm sorry Beatrice you have to. It would be rude if you didn't go." My mom says

I take a deep breath. "Fine, I'll go."

I finish eating. I grab my bag and phone then put on my black Vans. After I head for the door.

"Bye Mom, bye Dad" I say.

I walk down the street to Tobias's house which is huge. I've been here a million times. When I was younger I would always come over for play dates with Tobias. Marcus invites me and my family to his house for dinner. At times when we were over Marcus would have tickets to the movies, or a baseball game or a football game something like that for me and Tobias. And we would go, no matter how much I hated him I still went. Caleb never liked those kinds of things so he never went.

I knock on the door and Marcus answered it.

"Beatrice, Good Morning!" He says happily

"Hi, good morning Marcus. My mom said Tobias would be bringing me to school this morning."

"Yes, let me get him."

"Tobias!!! Come down here please!" he says.

Tobias comes down the stair with his bag. He is wearing black jeans and a black shirt.

"Yeah?"

"You have to go now Beatrice is here and I already told you, your going to bring her to school today."

"Oh right I forgot" he says in a dead voice a jacket and his bag. He put on a black pair of sneakers. Then we head out into his car.

"Get in." he says. I get shotgun.

He starts the car and we drive to school.

"So which girl are you hooking up with this weekend." I tell him with a smirk. I like to bug him a lot and he bugs me to.

"Very funny. Well at least I am considered attractive." He says smirking.

"Well I hope no one sees me come out of this car!" I say while looking around his car.

"Why?" he asks confused.

"Because every single girl that has been in this car has hooked up with you. And I do not want anyone to think I hooked up with you" I say with attitude

"Well you kind of ruined the streak!" He says coldly.

"Whatever hurry up and get to school." I say.

We finally get into school. Tobias parks his car and literally all the girls are starting to notice.

I carefully walk out of his car. When I walk out I can see all the girls staring at me with dirty looks and whispers like :

Did he actually hook up with her? Ew why her? Did he seriously drive her?Did she actually just get out of Four's car? God do you think he hooked up with her? Jeez why her, why not me?

Thanks girls. You know that make someone feel so much better. I quickly run while Tobias greats the girls. What a geezer! Like I would never date that piece of dump.

I take out my schedule and locker number:

Beatrice Prior :

Locker 647

1st Period - Science;Room 237- 8:30- 9:15

2nd Period - History;Room 180 - 9:30- -10:15

3rd Period - Drama;Room 210 - 10:30 - 11:15

Lunch\ Free Period -11:15-12:30

4th Period - Math;Room 105 -12:30- 1:15

5th Period- Gym;Gymnasium 1:30-2:15

When we got our locker numbers and schedules over the summer I found out Christina and I have 3 classes together

I head over to my locker and shove my bag inside. The only thing inside are Gym clothes.

"Tris!" Christina say behind my locker.

"Hi Christina." We aren't really happy to see each other since we have been together for the whole summer!

"I just heard that you came out of Four's car."she says smirking. "Why didn't you tell me about you know him. Thought you hated the guy. C'mon spill! Hey news travels fast!"

"Christina! Not you too! Can I not walk out of Four's car without being questioned?" I ask Christina was really into gossip and all that. "And I do hate him. I needed a ride to school and since our parents are friends my mom asked for a ride."

BRINGGGGG!

"Well there goes the bell see you later" I tell her

"See ya" then we both head different ways.
