Chapter 23

I'm driving back to school with Adam and Caleb. I've been really curious to why my friends couldn't come. I mean a simple "sorry can't make it anymore" text would have been just fine with
me.

We get to school, and Caleb parks the car.
"Thanks Caleb" Adam says.

"What he said." I say. "I'll be on my way now, I have to do something. Maybe we can meet up at the cafe or do something tomorrow."

"Sounds great sis." Caleb replies.

I let out a little laugh.

"I was talking to Adam." I say walking backwards.

"Sounds cool, I'll text you." Adam says.

I head to my dorm. I'm walking very fast, I almost run to my dorm. As I open the door it's empty. No Christina. I knock on Marlene's door, no answer.

Where would they all be on a Sunday? Then it hits me. The little cafe! I run as fast as possible, which isn't very fast because no running inside the school.

I exit the bulding and head to the cafe on campus. There it is! And I can see them through the window. I pull open the door and they all look at me. They are all here. Christina, Marlene,Lynn,Four everyone.

I pretend to not see them and order a drink. I actually do order one because I was craving it.

"Oh hello." I say.

"Hi Tris." Four says making room on his chair for me to sit. I don't sit though.

"Well, as I recall I remember inviting you all to the Carnival. You all said you would come. You didn't I wouldn't have mind if you told me or answered one of my texts." I tell them.

They all sat there in silence trying their best not to make eye contact.

"I'm really sorry, Tris. I was going there but I had to pass by my house and my mom grounded me and took my phone away." Christina says.

Everybody starts stating their reasons and I forgive them all. Everybody but Four tells me why they couldn't make it.

"And Four your dad takes part in this! Why weren't you there?" I ask.

He avoids making eye contact. "I was out with some old friends."

I don't believe it but I forgive him anyway.

I'm sitting at the side of the stage with my clipboard while Savannah and Four are doing the scene where Cinderella is at the ball. 1 week and a half and we'll be done with this play.

"Sucks doesn't it." Someone says and sits down with me. It's Lauren. I am tired of her stupid notes. I got one this morning, it said something like I've already started separating you two.

"Seeing the guy you like happy with another girl." Lauren continues.

"What are you talking about?" I ask her.

"Ugh, I think it's obvious to everybody that you're jealous of Savannah and Four." She says.

"I am not jealous. He is my boyfriend and I'm his girlfriend. Nothing is changing that."

I glance over at them. I'm not the jealous type but, I am jealous, I am upset. Ever since this stupid play all he thinks about is Savannah.

"Well if you want to get rid of her, you can always come to me, I'm sure we can work something out." She winks at me "Besides we both want the same thing."

Gosh is she annoying. Savannah is a nice person and I think it's just Four being stupid.

I dribble the ball around the cones that are set up. I go around them without knocking over any. Soccer is one of the only things I enjoy now a days.

"Alright girls game next week against the North Panthers. Practice is over I'll see you tomorrow. And I have a surprise for you girls, wait here." Coach walks away and we wait for a good 5 minutes. He comes back with a cardboard box.

"Uniforms are here!" He says.

We all run towards him and the box.

"Careful girls let me hand them out." Coach opens the box and pulls out light blue and grey jerseys. Our school logo on the front. It's much prettier than how I'm describing it.

I finally get mine. The back reads,
the number 1 and my last name neatly printed Prior.

Alright who here thinks the Four was being honest to why he wasn't at the carnival? If so where do you think he was!

Not sure what I want to write about next chapter! Any ideas anyone?? Please I need them.
