Chapter 4

We shop for a good 2 hours.

Christina drives me home and I get started on homework. An hour and a half later I finish it all, which consisted of math, science and history. I still have time before dinner.

I change into soccer shorts, a jersey and my black Adidas sports sweater. I pull my hair into a ponytail.Then I put my on long black socks and shoes which were both meant for soccer.

I take my ball and go outside to practice my soccer tricks. I also dribble the ball on my feet. Soon I hear a knocking sound. I ignore it at first but it kept getting louder and louder, then curiosity got the best of me. I look around and I see Tobias at his window and he is holding up some paper. It says:

"Play harder, you still suck! (;
I'm still better"

He is smiling. I tell him to wait and run back into the house and get a notepad and markers.

I come back out and write something. I show it to him it says:

"Then why don't you come down here and I will shut that big mouth of yours! Put you're soccer skills where your mouth is! "

He smiles and reads it and writes a
"Fine get ready to be beaten!!"

He leaves and comes out of his house. He is wearing soccer shorts, shoes, socks and a jersey and a black sweater

"So you think I'm bad at soccer? Well then how come the coach pulled me aside and told me I could be captain of the team?" I say

"Well how bout a match and we'll see who's better."

"You're on" I say with a smirk.

So far in the game I am winning, 2-1.

"Beatrice time for dinner." my mother calls opening the backyard door. " Hello Tobias!"

"Okay" I say

"Hi Mrs. Prior" He says. She closes the door and heads back inside.

"I won!" I say playfully pushing him.

"Yeah, yeah I almost had a goal. " he says

"Told you I was better!" I say like a 5 year old.

He rolls his eyes.

I pick up my soccer ball but it rolls out of my hands.Then Tobias picks it up before I could get it.

"Here" he says passing it to me.

I put my hands on it but I don't fully grab it. Instead I look up at his face. He is looking at me as well. I stare into his piercing blue eyes. I could feel the electricity between us. Our lips were only a few centimetres away. We leaned in for a kiss. But we stopped each other before our lips touched. We went back to reality. Knowing we could have easily closed the space between us.

I grab my soccer ball "Thanks" I say.

I pick up my notepad and markers and quickly enter my house.

Did that just happen? Did I almost kiss Tobias Eaton! My childhood enemy? This cannot happen. I don't like him! He doesn't like me!

Tobias's POV

Wow. I almost kissed Beatrice Prior! She runs back inside leaving me speechless. Do I like her?
What am I doing? I don't like her! I don't. We've hated each other ever since! This is impossible! We are never ever going to be a thing! But if we did kiss it wouldn't be our first time...

Tris's POV

I eat dinner with my family. When they ask about my first day I tell them it was good. I eat quietly while replaying the memory in my head. Once I finish I walk up stairs to my room. I get ready for bed. Brush my teeth. change clothes. wash my face. Then head to bed. I can't sleep so I text Christina. She deserves to know now.

tris6: chris!! I need to tell you something! Super important!
chrissyxo: OMG okay. need me to come over?
tris6: no it's okay. i'll just tell you.
chrissyxo: k
tris6: i almost kissed 4
chrissyxo: WHAT?! Details?!
tris6 : it started when I was playing soccer alone in my backyard. Then Four knocked on his window showed me a paper, like in the You Belong With Me video but it said You suck play harder I am better
tris6 : then I said that he should put his soccer where his mouth is and come down here and play. He comes down. We play I win 2-1. My mom tells me it's dinner time . Then I pick up my soccer ball it slips then he picks it put. I hold it but I don't take it. I look up into his eyes. Our lips were centimetres away then he leaned in, then I leaned in and we were millimetres away from kissing until we stopped ourselves and I said bye and ran in inside
chrissyxo : dammn tris!
tris6: i know!
chrissyxo : we'll talk about this tomorrow! dwbi! it's fine.
tris6: kk thanks. but what if i do like him? i've hated him all my life! he hates me!
chrissyxo : it's okay! remember he is known for hooking up with girls don't fall in his trap. and you're just getting started with matthew!
tris6 : okay. thanks chris. your right i don't like him. it meant nothing.well gtg see you at school(:
chrissyxo : okay nighty

I lock my phone. But matter how many times I've said that it meant nothing, it really did mean something to me.

Tobias's POV

I can't believe what just happened. I am so glad my Dad is on a buisness trip. I don't think I could handle him and what just happened. I am getting overwhelmed with all the thoughts in my head. I don't have anyone to tell, I'm alone un this huge house. I decide to text Zeke and Uriah.

4eaton : guys something big just happened.
zekepedrad : what?
notapansycake : sup dude?
4eaton : i almost kissed tris today.
notapansycake : WHAT? i thought u hated her.
zekepedrad : no way !
4eaton : i do hate her, i have all my life!
zekepedrad : well tell us what went down.
4eaton: okay so I was in my room and i saw tris playing soccer outside. i wrote her a little note and tapped on the window till she noticed me. the note said you suck play harder im better.
4eaton: then she told me to put my soccer where my mouth is and vs her. i did and she won. her mom told her to come in for dinner. she picked up her ball but it fell out of her hands i picked it up and gave it to her.both our hands were on the ball and we gazed in each others eye until we leaned in to kiss but we didn't then she went home
notapansycake : wow! dang
zekepedrad : dude what happens if ur gf finds out!
4eaton : ikr. no one is going to tell her.
zekepedrad : tris & her little friends would probably spill.
notapansycake : true, she would prob want to get back at you for like everything we did.
4eaton : she wouldn't because then lauren would go after her too & that would be hell for tris to go through
zekepedrad: true
notapansycake : u got a point. its scary to make ur gf mad! she is like a vicious shark. damn how do even keep up that chick?
4eaton : dude she is hot & she can be cute & nice.
zekepedrad : do u love her? i know i love shauna.
4eaton : yeah totally !
zekepedrad : willing to spend the rest of ur life with her? u like her for more than her looks?
notapansycake : *ahem* i don't have a girlfriend
zekepedrad: who cares
4eaton : mmm... i don't think i could have her for the rest of my life.

After Zeke asked that question I thought about Lauren. Yes she was gorgeous, but we could never have a straight conversation. She was to busy wanting to kiss me.

4eaton : k go to go see you guys tomorrow.
