Like an actual date?

I guess you could say it's rushed. Emil drags me to this different cafe where they serve bubble tea and, as you may guess, liquorice.
"So..." I awkwardly say, trying my hardest to start the smallest of conversations.
"When did you start to like Mathias?" He asks. I frown and put down my tea, looking at him from across the table.
"We're on a date and you ask me about when I started to like someone?" I ask in disbelief.
"Well, is this really a date?" He asks.
"You said it was! You practically begged!" I retort, anger beginning to boil inside me.
"Yeah well, it's not really a date is it."
"Well shut up and make it a date, then!" I argue back, not really realising how he interpreted that. He stands and takes my hand, sighing before pulling me in and...kissing me. In a way, I didn't want to pull away but I knew I'd be judged since he knows I like Mathias. Then again, if he knows that, why would he kiss me in the first place?  I don't make up my mind before he pulls away anyway.
"Emil-"
"Sorry, I had to." He seems flustered at his actions and as am I.
"I-I guess it's fine...but you know-" he's quick to take over.
"You like Mathias...yeah, I know." By the way his voice is quiet, I have trouble understanding whether it's disappointment or sadness intertwined in his words.
"Wow you two, we leave you alone for an hour and look at what we've got!" A loud voice interrupts to moment and both of us turn to the door. It's Mathias and Lukas! Oh god what he thinks of us!
"It's not what it looks like!" Emil and I say in unison. Hopefully, they didn't see anything too...well, you know.
"We saw you kissing." Lukas bluntly explains. I stiffen and I notice Emil does too.
"That wasn't what it looked like either." Emil tries to reason but they have none of it. Mathias playfully punches me and congratulates me since 'no one else would have Emil' while I hastily try to explain that he is wrong.
"Oh for the love of god! I don't like her!" Emil silences us with his loud shouting. Surprisingly, it stung. Those words were like ice in my ears. Ice all over me! All happiness drains from within me and the other three notice this.
"Kaia I-" Emil tries to explain but I leave without another word, the trio of idiots left standing by our table with leftover tea.

So much for my date with the guy I know officially hate.

And what're my chances of getting Mathias now?
