Katerina's POV
It was my first day at Hope Creek high. I liked the name of this town, Hope Creek. I nervously threw my hair up in a ponytail and grabbed my bag. I ran upstairs from my basement bedroom and out the door. I could easily walk in the mornings.
I ran around trying to find the office. Why is this school so big? Finally I found it and spoke to the secretary. "Hi I'm the new student Katerina Williams. I need my schedule and locker." The secretary reached into a filing cabinet and pulled out a few papers. "Here you go dear." I looked at my time table.
First period: English Mr. White
Second period: Math Ms. Wetherup.
Third period: Science Mrs. Bonis
Lunch
Fourth period: Gym Ms. King
Fifth period: Home ec. Mrs. Ploof
Sixth period: History Mr. Duncan
Seventh period: Art Ms. Hill
Blaaah. I went to my locker and grabbed my books for my classes until lunch. I tried to slip into English. Not happening. "Everyone this is our new student Katerina Williams. Welcome her with open arms." He declared. I felt my face go red. So embarrassing.
Ten minutes into class someone else showed up. "Ah Mr. Bishop. Nice for you to join us." I looked at the new arrival. I felt attracted to him.
MATE!!!
Cherie shut up!
Sorry, Kat. He's our mate.
Oh god.
It was they mate pull I felt! He looked me in the eye and mouthed one word. "Mate."
