Katerina's POV

I felt Zander grab my hand under the table and I clenched it tightly. None of the broken glass had hit our table but a pack of about 50 rogues were attacking people left and right inside the cafeteria. "Zander, go. I'll help fight them." I told him urgently. He looked at me worriedly. "Kat, I can't-" he tried to protest but I wasn't gonna hear it. I cut him off. "Zander, go. I'm sure about this." he nodded and let go of my hand.

I dropkicked the nearest rogue and roundhouse kicked another. With two out, I proceeded to knock as many as I could out. All too soon I realized I was being backed up against the wall. Sure enough, my back hit the wall. One person walked up to me and I recognized him. The hair color. The face. I thought I'd never have to see him again.

"Miss me?" he sneered. I was as shocked as I could be. How did he find me? "You? no way. Never." was my response. He walked even closer. "Well I missed you babe." I felt anger in my veins. How dare he call me that? "Ashton, you may never call me that ever again." he was taken aback. I took that moment to send a quick right hook to his jaw.

He gaped at me. "Did you seriously just hit me?" he asked. I smirked. It  felt good. "Yes I did, you player, leave me the h3ll alone, will ya?" I bellowed. I then proceeded to beat the four rogues surrounding me. Ashton was still holding his jaw where I had hit him. "But we're mates, you can't run from me like that, Kat." It was my turn to gape. Did he just say that?

"One thing's for certain, I'm not your mate. Get away from me." I growled. He took a step closer. "But babe-" I punched him hard in the nose and ran off to defend a human from a couple of rogues. As I fought them off, my skin was still crawling. What in the world made Ashton believe we were mates? After most of the rogues were unconscious and the rest had fled, I looked around for Zander. I seriously needed to talk to him.

"Zander! Where you at?" I called out. I heard a faint groan and found my way to the source of the noise. There was Zander pinned under a couple of tables with 12 rogues circling around him. I cleared my throat. "So fellas, you feel brave when you outnumber him 12-1?" I asked. Four came at me and I quickly took them out.

"Unless you would like to be next, I suggest you leave." I addressed the remaining rogues. They all left in a hurry and I proceeded to pull the heavy tables off of Zander. By now a small crowd had gathered and I knew they were all wolves. "Don't just stand there, grab a pack doctor. Now!" I shouted the last word and a couple of wolves scampered off. I helped Zander to his feet. Stupid cafeteria tables.
