chapter one

"Come and get me!"

Both girls were running towards the hill as they tried to reach the big oak tree that was on top of it. They both finally reached the place and once they were there, the younger girl let herself fall off to the ground when the other girl did the same thing. They giggled as they both laid down next to each other with their chest pumped. Both girls just stared on to the blue sky as the sun shone upon them.

"I wish we could be like this forever," the 15 year-old dark haired girl spoke with so much emotion in her voice

you frowned as you could feel your heart breaks a little when she said that to you,
"Ken– can we pretend for one day that nothing else exists but us? just me and you, under this beautiful sky"

she turned her head at you and you could feel her fingers laced on top of yours,
"we'll be okay, Y/N. I promise you that"

"what if I never get to see you again?" you asked her softly and you could hear your voice broke

"hey, we've talked about this, I don't want to spend our last day with you crying over this," Kendall spoke as she gave your hand a light squeeze

"I know, but I just can't help it, you're my best friend and once you were gone–"

"–Florence will be there with you, she will help you get through everything when I'm not here, she's our best friend too, remember?" the dark-haired girl nodded at you and you just looked down at your hand

"yeah,"

she placed her hand gently at your chin making you look up at her,
"hey, don't be sad, I promise I'll come back for you,"

she wiped away a single tear that came out from your eye

"we'll be seeing each other in maybe five or six years from now on, and you'll still be the same Y/N that I know, my best best best friend in the whole entire world," she continued and you just smiled

"easy for you to say," you spoke sadly

"no it's not, but you know what? there are million reasons why I need to come back and find you" she said with a smile on her face

"name one," you said

"hmm... your beautiful heart, Y/N" she stated, "that is one of many things that I need to come back to, you are the most kind-hearted human being I've ever known and don't ever stop being one, because that's what makes you special"

you were soon pulled by a big warm hug from the young girl, you stayed like that for a while and you nuzzled on to the crook of her neck,
"gosh I'm gonna miss you so badly, buddy"

"I'm gonna miss you too Kenny, please always remember me," you begged the dark haired girl and she just chuckled

"don't worry, I don't think I can ever forget you, ever"

nine years later

"ew, help me get this thing off of me, please" you begged the brunette as she came over to you

"dude, it's stuck!" Florence laughed and you groaned in return

"nooo I don't wanna cut my hair off-" you cried as you continued
"you did this! and now you're gonna help me take it off from my hair" you demanded the twenty four year-old to help you take off the sticky gum that seemed to be tangled on your hair

"jeez calm down babe, here let me help you" the brunette said as she gently pulled out the gum

"see? it's done now, no need to be shouting" she said and you just rolled her eyes

"sure whatever, thanks btw"

then the girl just laughed all of a sudden,
"what?" you asked

"you know, you really do have the kindest heart, I mean Kendall was right about you being mad and then the next thing you could totally still be saying thanks even though you're mad at me and–"

Florence words took you by surprise and you could feel yourself tensed when you heard the brunette mentioned her name.

"sorry," her face turned into crimson as she realized what she just said

"yeah it's okay," you said and flashed her a genuine smile

"it's been what, Y/N? eight years? nine?"

"Nine years."

she nodded,
"you still think about her, don't you?"

you chuckled at her words and gave her a sad smile,
"how can I not? me, being helplessly in love with her straight best friend ever since I was ten years old, yeah I don't think I can ever not think of her"

You could feel yourself started to cry and Florence just walked up to you, pulled you into a hug "I miss her so much, Flo, it hurts"

"I know, I know" she muttered softly as you just rested your head on to her shoulder

Florence was the only person who knew that you had feelings for Kendall. It started from a little crush, and then turned out, you fell madly in love with the dark haired girl. You knew you were probably too young to know about love that time, but you knew deep inside, what you were feeling for her, until now is still the same. Now it has been nine years since she left you. She had to leave that time, her family had to move away from Calabasas because of her family business. When you found out about the news, it completely broke you. Not just losing your best friend, but your whole life.

Kendall was your whole life. You have been friends with her since you two were in a diaper. Both of your family used to be neighbors, that was why you were so close with her. Everything seemed to be so perfect back then, but then it happened. She had to leave. and you had no other option but to let her go.

"you had no idea how much I miss her, Flo" you cried and she just hold you

"I know, I miss her too," she said to you and you nodded while tears were streaming down your face

"I need to find her,"

"I need to find her."
