Give me a reason to understand why trust is easily offered to another...

The foggy swamp was silent but the wind never lies.
We were decreasing in numbers, that much I could tell. Gon and Killua were in front of us jogging while Rhode remained in sync with Leorio and Kurapika. I gripped Rhode's shoulders tightly as we continued jog in silence.
"Mistress?" Rhode whispers in acknowledgement which snapped me out of my inner turmoil.
The sight of death before me always made me queasy. It was still something I was getting used to. Animals, I already could handle but humans... That was in a different spectrum and it always made me sick. That's why if possible, I wanted to stay as far from Hisoka as possible.
Rhode thought the same thing too when I told her about the man who just a while ago not only made a man's arm disappear but also killed a monster with no remorse. Rhode had been too busy in lala-land that she may have overlooked Hisoka a while back in the tunnel, but this time she knew just how frightening the man could be.
If we hoped to all survive the Hunter's Exam, we had to avoid him at all cost.
"I'm just worried... We're decreasing in numbers. We have to move to the front." I remind her, my uncanny ability to read the wind always came handy during situations like these. It was one of the reasons why I hated closed spaces even though I'm not claustrophobic. The air is always stagnant in places like those and having the ability to hear the wind has always been a part of me. An extra sense to be precise that when you cut it off it's like losing your ability to hear or to feel.
Rhode's eyes widen on my remark before she nods solemnly and quickly scans everyone around us before speaking. "We have to move to the front... It's not safe here anymore."
"Easy for you to say! This is as far as I can go!" Leorio wheezed, his forehead covered in sweat while his chest was heaving up and down rather harshly.
"But she's right though. We have to put as much distance as we can from that Hisoka guy if we want to avoid being noticed." Killua agreed causing Gon to nod as well.
We were in a standstill with the decision. Although it is the safest to be closer to Satotz-san, we couldn't do so due to the fact that not all of us would be able to put an extra energy to sprint to the front. I had no right to voice my opinion because in all honesty, I'm the only one barely making an effort.
It was frustrating but Rhode's words stuck to me. For now, I couldn't act selfish. Everyone's life back at home is on the line because of me and if there's a chance to save them without giving up anything then we'd find a way.
"We'll be fine. You guys can go ahead." Kurapika's voice cut through the silence, my eyes darting to his grey ones that seemed so sure. Kurapika should know that it's too dangerous right now to split up and yet he would suggest such a thing?
"Alright, let's go, Gon." Killua easily consents causing me to spin my head to Killua and Gon who immediately sprinted off to the front, Gon giving us a quick wave before dashing off to follow Killua.
"Wait-!" I tried to stop them but it was already too late to do so. Is there something I'm missing from this plan? I never really was a good strategist so I could never comprehend how easily Gon had left us. Killua, being the mean person he is, would no doubt leave but Gon? The very person who had offered his hand to us to do it just didn't sit well with me.
