As the hatchling stretches its wings to take flight,
It welcomes the morning with newfound hope...
-*-Rhode and Yllina sighed in relief upon hearing the news that they were all allowed to retake the second phase.
"I'm glad. I'm really glad that you have an amazing luck, Rhode." Yllina sniffled after they listened to Menchi's heartfelt apology and willingness to test them in a different theme for the second phase.
It still involved cooking but this time they were to head to a mountain called Mount Split-In-Half and retrieve a rare egg that belonged to the spider eagle specie. It was a type of insect-bug that Rhode read about during their trip around the world. To protect its young, they would usually lay eggs in ravines, the eggs held aloft in webs they weaved.
A retrieval test from mid-air? It looks like Yllina was right, Rhode really did have an amazing luck.
Upon arriving to the said place via the chairman's blimp, Yllina could already feel the wind's force from all around her. The shift of territory to one they knew so well couldn't help but gain the confusion of their friends at their rather excited behavior.
"Is it just me or did they suddenly turn a 180 on us?" Leorio questioned his friends, making sure they were out of earshot from the two females who observed Menchi's instructions on how to take the eggs.
Even Kurapika agreed with Leorio, his calm grey eyes noticing the change in demeanor of both Rhode and Yllina. Any sane person would be freaking out at the prospect of possibly dying while diving to retrieve those eggs. The calculation had to be just right and yet the daunting task didn't seem to bother the two women who Kurapika knew from a previous experience with Hisoka had a very wary disposition when it came to danger.
What made them change their outlook now?
"Well they look like they're going to have fun so we should forget about it and enjoy the thrill with them!" Gon, ever the optimistic one, didn't feel like there was anything wrong with Yllina and Rhode. Contrary to what his friends thought, he only felt excited at the thrill of an adventure and he was glad that both Yllina and Rhode seemed to be agreeing with him even without saying so.
"Well. Now you know. At least we have a inkling that the exam will be going well for us this time around." Killua shrugged. He could care less about what Rhode and Yllina felt. So long as Yllina wasn't going to bombard him with her weirdness then he'd be fine.
"Rhode, let's go!" Yllina yelled excitedly upon Menchi's announcement to start, grabbing her sister by the hand and quickly plunging together to the ravine below.
The feel of the wind against her skin felt nostalgic and exhilarating. It was a feeling Yllina and Rhode had missed ever since they left Soevenia. It had been too long since they were gone and the ache for this feeling again was what caused them to free fall like that.
Grabbing an egg and then afterwards a thick thread of the web, Yllina's laughter reverberated in the ravine causing Rhode to chuckle as well at having once again experienced the exhilaration of falling with the wind.
"That was fun! It's been a while hasn't it, Rhode?" Yllina gasped after her laughter died down as well as the adrenaline rush from the free fall. Her cheeks were flushed from the sudden blood rush, her long hair completely disheveled like Rhode's was.
"Yes far too long..." Rhode admitted her eyes staring at the others who joined in with them. Obviously their friends would have taken the risk, even though they weren't as used to this as Yllina and Rhode, the reddish-violet haired woman still commended them for their bravery.
