Life is not ours to take,
Yet, for others, we willingly take the blade...

The battle was brief and the killing blow- instantaneous.

Yllina didn't even see it happen, the speed in which he delivered the finishing attack too fast for her untrained eyes to follow.

In one move, Killua had easily killed one of the most feared serial killers in Zaban.

Johaness' last words... A desperate plea as Killua crushed his torn out heart... Yllina felt like vomiting. It had been far too long since she had seen such a brutal display. Countless of civil wars in her hometown should have desensitized her but Yllina just couldn't numb herself to the sight.

Apathy will only bring forth more wars, Yllina believed her mother's words. It was lack of understanding that always brought people to kill each other- to destroy each other for the sake of one's own selfishness.

And yet- for what sake did Killua kill Johaness for?

"Too easy." She heard him chuckle darkly before turning away and walking back to them.

The entire arena was silent. Only Kurapika's match with the man who called himself Majitani was still ongoing, the blond barely recognizing the bloodshed that just transpired due to his growing hostility towards the spider-tattooed prisoner. No one spoke as Killua continued to walk, his footsteps the only sound breaking the silence.

It wasn't until Killua was announced the winner did everyone suddenly break from the trance, Gon being the first to congratulate Killua when he had arrived.

Sadly, Yllina couldn't do the same for him.

Such a sinister aura of bloodlust, nearly as thick as Rhode's when she was still under Soevenia's military. Even after she had prevented him from killing those men on the ship- wait, could it be that this was his way of blowing off that pent up rage? Yllina didn't know and she couldn't afford to ask.

She couldn't stomach that sight, she couldn't face Killua with a look of pure terror. She had seen Rhode's expression when she had done the same to her- the  look of hurt on her face- Yllina didn't want Killua to see that too. They were already falling apart as friends as it is- Yllina realizing how his past couldn't be shaken off that easily. Even though it scared her, she had to try- her first friends in a long time... She didn't want to lose them too soon.

"Yllina? Are you alright?" Gon, having noticed her silence, asked her- her pale as a ghost complexion enough to make him worry.

This too had brought Killua's attention, his eyes noting her trembling form that she tried her best to hide. It was obvious to him that she was frightened and he had expected it. The weak will always cower at the strong, her naivety her downfall.

"I-I'm fine." He heard her stammered lie just as she rummaged in her pocket and pulled out a pale blue handkerchief. Her face was unreadable as she approached Killua, the former assassin completely surprised at her sudden action to approach him.

They weren't on talking terms after the ship incident and he had expected she'd avoid him completely after he had killed Johaness. So to actually do the opposite- Killua wondered what was on her mind right now.

"Here. It'll help clean the blood faster," she suddenly spoke, her hand stretching out to offer him her handkerchief, her eyes still refusing to meet his.

Unused to this gesture, Killua could only offer his typical answer. "I don't need it. I can wipe it off myself if it bothers you." He didn't mean for it to sound rude, it was probably because he couldn't stand her show of pity towards him that irritated him.
