"That will be seven ninety five sir," I smiled politely before taking the ten he held out and giving him his change.

"Have a nice day," I replied with a fake smile, silently cursing the recited protocol on how to deal with customers as he walked away without another word.

I turned to face my co-worker Hannah who had just finished stock taking and was now doodling on her clipboard that was already covered in various scribbles. If her attention wasn't on work it usually was her artwork.

"Well he seemed delightful and your fake 'have a nice day' was full of enthusiasm by the way," her voice was full of sarcasm and I couldn't blame her, "Sometimes I wonder why we have to be all 'have a nice day' when they clearly are having anything but," she ranted on, it was obviously Hannahs time of the month.

"Tell me about it," I mumbled before turning to serve a young customer who had just appeared.

"Excuse me miss? Do you have the killers newest album?" A familiar dark haired boy asked, tapping the counter. "Sure, I'll go grab it for you, I won't be a moment," I smiled before turning and walking from behind the counter.

It didn't take me long to find it, I knew these aisles by heart. "K..Kooks, Kings on Leon, blah blah, ahh Killers," I grinned to myself as I selected the album and quickly turned to head back to the front desk and collided with someone.

"Oops I'm sorry," a voice rang out, as I re-focused and looked up at who I'd ran into.

Of course with the luck I had it had to be him.

"Don't worry about it, I'm fine," I stepped around him and carried on toward the desk because I didn't know what to say, I didn't have anything else. I was fine.

"There you are, we thought you'd gotten lost," Hannah laughed

"Now that could never happen Hannah, you know that," I smiled before I turned to show the album to the boy in front of me, "Here you go Tyler, sorry for the wait,"

"No worries," he grinned as he paid for the item

"So, what held you up back there? You're usually in and out like god speed?" Hannah asked standing next to me.

"I ran, well bumped into someone, literally, how embarrassing is that?" I laughed putting the album in a bag for the customer.

"Lola, Lola, Lola how clumsy you are," she laughed, "So are-"

"Oh it was only me, little Lola couldn't harm a fly," I turned at the sound of a voice and was brought face to face none other than Dylan of course.

"So how do you know our Lola then?" Hannah asked in a rush, cocking an eyebrow.

"That's who I bumped into," I laughed answering her.

"And we go to school together, with Tyler here, she's also my midterm music assignment duet partner,"

"That we do, they're piece is sounding phenomenal too," he grinned before looking back at me, "Thanks for your help Lola," he replied smiling before walking off waving.

And then they both left, without another word.

"He's so obviously flirting with her!" Dylan threw his hands up exasperated. We were sat on his Star Wars blanket on the grass under one of the small spruce trees near the pond.

I'd packed a simple picnic and we were sat in an oddly comfortable silence now I'd finished the story. Dylan occasionally breaking it with another funny reaction to another story that once again he didn't even know was one of our past.

"You think so?" I laughed, aiming another blueberry at his mouth, readying myself to throw it as he opened his mouth widely.

Of course he caught it with ease, "I know so," he beamed with confidence.

Oh how I wish you did know Dyl, I really wish you did.
