"Okay sweetie, on a scale from one to ten, how bad is the pain?" the doctor asked, eyes focused on getting an honest to god answer.

"Nine," voice nothing higher than an emotionless whisper.

"Darling are you sure?" she asked obviously not believing the response, her piercing glare attempting to get another answer from the tired patient.

"Umm could I try maybe?" I asked, manoeuvring my way round the nurse quickly, a small tear escaping my eye as I saw the state my love was in, "Hey," I smiled, sitting down on the edge of the bed.

"Uh, hi?" A throaty croak sounded.

"Never thought I'd see the day you were wearing something that wasn't distressed or ruined from fights you lost," I chuckled, frowning when I saw confusion erupt from their features.

"Do I do that?"

I whipped my face around to face the nurse who's eyes were wide as she realised what was happening, why Dylan didn't seem to know that was something he did, my very voice quivered as I were about to question her, after all she assured me my love was safe and even would be back to normal soon, "Nurse? What is th-"
