Shock paralysed me as he added it all up, I never thought he'd find out so quickly but then again, I knew as soon as he started using the Internet to help recover his lost memories, he'd stumble upon the truths of our life and hospitalisation.
"I can't tell you that," I shook my head, my gaze switching to my lap, "Because I was," biting my lip nervously I realised I had to tell him, "You were driving us home from little Dylan's place, we'd all hung out since we hadn't all got together in ages, but we got caught up in a huge six car pile up at the intersection, it was a mess, a huge bloody mess. Two people died, there were young children trapped and you were unconscious,"
His silence was deafening, "I-why didn't you tell me?"
"The doctors told me I couldn't, it would worsen the trauma and then they said, it wasn't worth me trying to help you recover your memories. Even now they tell me stop trying,"
"Let me guess, they think the stories of the guy and the girl are useless? Well, me and the girl that is," he shrugged.
"Yeah they- wait what? How did you figure out he was you?" I chuckled, shocked but not entirely surprised he'd put two and two together and come out with four.
"Well, it wasn't a big jump to make, its obvious they were close and basically inseparable. Then yesterday the story was about me, the way you described me with the girl was no different to the guy with her and I said she was my best friend so it was obvious then,"
"You're quick to catch on," I nodded, impressed by him, "Anything else?"
"No, it didn't jog any memories either," he glanced back at me, "Lola, can you help me figure out something though?"
I hesitated, knowing what he wanted to know, "Depends,"
"If I'm the guy, who's the girl I'm in love with? And why isn't she here?"

As remnants of the earlier interrogation pushed their way through my mind, I sighed. Luckily a nurse had came in with Dylan's medical team, ready for a final round of examinations that would determine his state and chance of recovery and also, his release date.
So I'd had a lucky escape.
Then they'd told us both, that if he didn't recover his memories within the next sixteen hours, it was highly unlikely he ever would. Before handing me a clipboard with immediate release papers to sign for tomorrow morning. They wasn't even going to keep him in to see if he would recover them.
He was free to leave and come home.
I left Dylan talking with the doctors about prescribed medication to help with his migraines, slipping quietly out the door to call Tyler.
"Hey what's up?" He chirped.
"Hey Ty, they're releasing him tomorrow," I bit my lip, "He's still a complete blank though and I don't want to take him back to a home filled with memories that will overwhelm him,"
"Me and Cody could always swing by and take some of it down, box it up and put it away? Would that help?"
"Yeah, yeah that would be brilliant, I'll be there soon and I'll set the guest room up for me to stay in,"
"I know the docs said not to tell him anything to personal, but you're gonna need to tell him about you, he's gonna start questioning things babe,"
"You mean like why we live together? Why I never leave him and why the internet is full of pictures of us?" I laughed lightly, knowing I had to talk to Dylan soon. It would probably scare him, I knew that and this time we might be different, things could turn out completely the opposite of what they were just a couple of months ago.
But he needed to know. I couldn't leave him in the dark.
"Alright, I'll go pick up Cody. He has a key for your place right? I lost mine, again. Call me later by the way Lo, I gotta ask you something,"
"Sure thing TPose,"

"I fucking hate airports," Dylan grumbled, repeatedly kicking his suitcase.
"That's because you hate waiting," I laughed.
"Well I'm impatient!" He whined running his hands through his hair.
"That's what she said," I laughed.
"Oh my god you're such a dork," he laughed. Turning towards Tyler and Ian, "Please don't leave me with this dork, I'm begging you,"
"But Dyl, you're a goofball yourself," Ian laughed loudly.
"I am not," he pouted.
"Are too,"
"Am not,"
"Are too," he turned to Tyler, who nodded.

"You're leaving me again?" Dylan pouted, "How dare you,"
"I'm going home, to get everything ready for when I take you away from this hellhole tomorrow," I laughed, finding his sulky face stupidly cute.
"If you're gonna abandon me, at least leave me with a clue about her," he pretended to prey, begging for me to give him something.
"No, wanna hear it in Spanish?"
"NOH!" He rolled his eyes, beating me to the punch.
"Dyl, google it,"
