"So she told you the story, when the two friends were at the party and finally kissed huh?" Tyler, who I now knew was my closet friend, chuckled.

"Yeah, man I'm proper glad they did, I was rooting for them," Dylan smiled, it didn't quite seem like he was losing who he was, unless you knew otherwise.

"Mate, I've always rooted for them, I still do now," I smiled knowingly, using my free hand to rub my chin, "Want to hear more about the two at that party?"

"Hell yes,"

••

Lola and Dylan made their way back to the hotel walking along the beach, they wouldn't admit it to one another out loud but to her own subconscious, she'd openly admit that she couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed that the night was at an end.

She genuinely loved being in Dylan's company. She couldn't tell you exactly why but there's just something about him that drew her in and made her want to be around him all the time. It made her wish they had been this close always and that she had been brave enough to let him in sooner and not just when she turned twelve.

Maybe it was his eyes, brown and mystical and the way they lit up and sparkled whenever he's or excited.

Maybe for Lola, it was how he's always self consciously biting his lip and playing with it, chewing and pulling silly faces with them, when he's thinking or nervous.

Maybe it's the way he's runs his hands through his hair constantly if he's worried or frustrated.

Or maybe it's because he listened to her, and trusts her like no one else or how he's open and honest with her.

And in Lola's eyes, he's so fucking, god damned beautiful.

Hell, Lola knew it was all of them because he's quite frankly so damned perfect and if she would just admit it out loud, being strictly honest she can't get enough of Dylan O'Brien.

So as Lola and Dylan neared the hotel, yeah she was pretty bummed but as she cast her eyes across to look at Dylan he was giggling.

"What's funny?" Lola laughed because let's face it, a cuddly giant giggling is pretty funny.

"You're super short," he giggled again pointing down at her she stood in front of him frowning.

"Dyl? Are you drunk?" Lola bit her lip trying to put on a serious face as she poked his chest.

"Nooooooo," he pouted as she raised an eyebrow challenging his answer, "Okay just a little but I can still balance on one leg look?" He shouted and tried showing her his balancing skills but instead tripped over his own feet landing on his butt.

Lola sat down cross cross apple sauce opposite him, "Never mind Dyl, it's okay because I'm a little drunk too,"

It was silent for a while but not that awkward kind where nobody knows what too say, it was comfortable and they sat facing each other, studying one another closely.

"Lola?" He whispered breaking the silence.

"Dylll," She giggled as he scowled.

"I think we should do something tomorrow," he grinned.

"Oh really?" Lola laughed and he nodded, "And what's that?"

"I'm not telling you, just meet me by the pool tomorrow morning at nine," he chuckled standing and then held his hand out to help her up, "And dress comfortably,"

"Oh I hate surprises," she pouted.

"Not this one you won't," he grinned.

"Promise?" Lola sulked and he grabbed both my hands in his before smiling as he replied, "I promise,"

••

"Dude will they just get married already?" Dylan groaned.

"Eventually they will," I chuckled, quickly replying to Lola's text asking if everything was ok.

"They will?" Dylan shot up like a lightening bolt, "Like they have or they hope to?"

"Hope to D, they've just hit a bumpy patch that's all,"

"Lola said that too," he was silent for a second before speaking up again, "I hope it works out okay,"

"Me too buddy, me too," I patted him on the shoulder, because I really do hope these two will be okay.

Dylan frowned for a moment before meeting my stare again, "What's my job?"

Oh shit.
