I was waiting outside of the club for my uber. It felt like I ordered it years ago but it's only been 10 minutes.
My friend Hayla and I wanted to go out, it was a Wednesday night but it was reading week so all the university kids were partying.
She ended up meeting some guy from the Mount Royal university, we go to University of Calgary, and she basically told me that she was ditching me.
Naturally I was mad that my friend would leave me all alone, especially for a guy that goes to our rival university, it's kind of a joke between the two universities but everyone knows that U of C students are better, right?
Anyways, my uber said it would be here in 15 minutes, nobody was catching my eye in the club and if they were, they had a girl with them already. I decided to just go home, the uber told me to wait at the side of the building, so that's where I was.
It's dark and sketchy where I was waiting and it was still cold out but the temperature wasn't too horrible. I had my bag casually slung over my shoulder, I wasn't paying much attention to my surroundings because I was a little bit tipsy and I wasn't thinking straight.
I felt someone's hand grab me by the shoulder, they tried to shove me on the ground but I guess they underestimated how strong I actually am.
"Give me your bag bitch!" The one man demanded pulling at my purse
The other two men with him tried to pull me to the ground again, this time it worked.
I had a strong clutch on my bag, at this point everything felt like it was in slow motion.
The one man had a knife in his hand and he brought it to my arm. The cut wasn't severe but it hurt and it made me bleed, I instantly let go of my bad and they grabbed it and started to run.
I got up off my feet and started running after them, screaming at them to give it back.
I wasn't too far behind them when I saw two other men running towards them.
"Great" I thought to myself, "there's more of them."
The man with my bag was dropped to the ground suddenly, then one of the other men was punched in the face, he dropped to the ground too.
One of the guys got away, I wasn't sure if it was the man with the knife or not.
I stood there in awe at what just happened, I was grateful for sure, that my bag was safe and that there wasn't more men coming to hurt me.
I was only maybe 6 or 7 feet away from what had all happened, the taller of the two guys grabbed my purse from the man that he knocked out.
I just stood there and stared at the two men who might have just saved my life or at least all of my money, I was speechless.
"Here's your bag." The tall one said, slightly out of breath handing my purse to me.
"Th-wow-.... Thank you." I managed to get out
"Why were you standing out here all by yourself? Clearly it's dangerous." The shorter one said, he was also a little breathless.
It was sexy how these two guys had saved me, they didn't have to, it's not their job, but they did it because they are kind.
"Oh, yeah I guess it is dangerous. I was just waiting for my uber, my friend ditched me and I wanted to go home since I had nobody else to hang out with here." I tried laughing off the situation, I didn't want to seem rude.
"Cancel your uber, I'll drive you home. I was heading out anyways." The tall one said again, his voice was deep and he sounded emotionless.
I just stared at both of them, wondering why they wanted to drive me home considering what just happened. They don't think I'm a little alarmed about two men, who are complete strangers to me?
"I'm Sean by the way, this is my buddy Johnny." The tall one, Sean, said.
"Nice to meet you." Johnny shook my hand
"I'm Jasmine, should I be alarmed that you want to drive me home?" I laughed, they chuckled a little
"If you're uncomfortable with it you don't have to come but it's free and you don't have to wait in the cold." Sean smiled
I decided to just go with them, they wouldn't knock out two men for me just to kidnap me anyways, right?
They drove me home and they were laughing the whole way about some team and practice, I wondered if they played for one of the university teams, they weren't much older than me if they were older at all. I didn't bother asking.
When we got to my place I thanked them one more time before they handed me a piece of paper.
When I got inside I looked at it and it said "If you ever want to hang out with us, our numbers are on the back. Thanks for the exciting evening."
I texted both numbers saying thank you and that it would be my pleasure to hang out with either of them again.
