Katniss had always been angry at her mother after her fathers death. She was angry because it wasn't fair that she had to step up as head of the home, and become a motherly figure to Prim. Katniss got even angrier after Prim's death, because what she really needed was her mothers love and comfort. In the end, Greasy Sae was HER mother figure, and it took Katniss a long time to figure that out...Greasy Sae was always there for her, she always fed Katniss, and after the horrible war, she took care of her, like Mrs. Everdeen should have.
