Katniss and Johanna often visited eachother. Johanna taught Katniss how to throw and axe and Katniss showed Johanna how to shoot. Despite being close friends, Johanna kept her past a secret. One time, Johanna let it slip that she was in love once. Katniss probed, "Oh Yeah?" Johanna nodded and explained that when she came back from her first games, her boyfriend abandoned her because of her choices in the arena. Because she choose to kill. Because she choose to survive. In the end, her parents and sister abandoned, too. In the Quarter Quell, she lied when she said there was no one left she loved. At that time, there was no one left who loved her.
