No one's POV (because it's been a while)
Alois was lying in Ciel's arms, enjoying the feeling of someone caring about him and nothing going wrong. Though it had been nagging him since that morning, what was going on with Lady Midford. Curiosity getting the better of him, he looked up at Ciel, who was at least partially asleep. Letting out a quiet giggle, Alois gave Ciel's shoulder a small nudge. Ciel's eyes (well, at least his visible one) snapped open, his cheeks quickly taking on a pink hue. "I didn't fall asleep, did I?!" The demon yelped, causing Alois to stifle another laugh.
"Possibly... B-but I don't mind," he replied, about as calm as he ever would be. "Um, Ciel? W-what's going on with Lady Midford, s-since you and her a-are engaged and all..." Alois added, trailing off at the end. Ciel's eye widened, and he pursed his lips, looking away from Alois.
"Nothing. Don't worry about Elizabeth... She's happy, she's fine," Ciel snapped, not intending on the harsh tone. Alois got himself off Ciel's lap, staring guiltily at the floor.
"I-I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean to-"
"It doesn't matter..."
The two sat in silence for a while, an awkward, mournful mood filling the air. A wall had erected itself between the two, and each believed themselves to be at fault.
"I'll go and make a afternoon tea..." Ciel mumbled, leaving, likely to escape the disheartening tension. Some time later Ciel returned with some tea and scones, though Alois was evidently not in the living room, or his bedroom, or the garden, or anywhere...
Checking the last room in the house Ciel placed the tray he had been holding on the nearest surface and began trying to work out where his blonde "master" had gone.
He had let his master get kidnapped for a second time (and Ciel knew all too well how horrible it felt) and one of the last things he'd done with the young earl was snap at him.
Guilt ridden and worried Ciel frantically searched very inch of the house for any clues at to where Alois could have gone, but found nothing. When that failed, he turned to instincts. It had worked before, it would surely work again. He could not hear his masters pleas for help this time, but he knew which direction to head, so after acquiring a horse, he sped off to try and find Alois.A/N: Another short chapter... I'm sorry, also, shout out to fallingshades for the idea that I'll be going with for the next few chapters ; )
