No one's POV
Alois lay awake, it was about two in the morning but every inch of him was telling to him to move, get up, do something. His muscles were tensely coiled like springs, and his head was whirring and spinning as if a cyclone with the thoughts rushing in circles around inside it.
Restless, Alois got up, the thought of Ciel had been clinging to his mind like a tick, feeding on his loneliness and feeling of exclusion and alienation, and bugging him with an underlying feeling of anxiety and agitation. He needed to do something to alleviate the stress, something else to think about, to avoid his mind slipping into the subjects which he so wished to banish from his head.He got dressed then stumbled into the kitchen, for no real reason mind you, it's not as if he wanted to eat. Sometimes it felt as if a ghost of Claude still haunted the manor, polishing the silverware, sitting in the garden, keeping Alois safe, or so the young boy had once thought. He suddenly became increasingly aware of the bad shape of the house. It looked abandoned - a film of dust covered many of the surfaces in a ghostly sheet, the floor had lost it's shine and had inexplicable accumulated grime, despite few having stepped on it in some time, the windows had become foggy, bordering on opaque, the the world outside them looked faded and haunting from behind the tinted glass. He should clean, especially since Ciel was coming... but where could he start?
Claude then entered his mind yet again, the other servants as well, but mostly Claude. This was what Claude had prevented, the house getting untidy and, more importantly, Alois feeling lost or anxious, and now he was gone... And he wasn't coming back... The only remnants of Claude was the the remnants that lived inside Alois' head, the long gone butler that - in Alois' lonely, unstable mind - still wandered the hallways aimlessly.
Alois bit back the tears that grew in his eyes. He had it coming, he deserved it. He didn't have the right to cry, as he brought it all upon himself. He should have been stronger, less clingy, less desperate... He wiped away the tears, beginning to busy himself with cleaning as a means of preoccupation. It was two in the afternoon and Ciel had just nocked at the door. Said door opened revealing the the same disheveled version of Alois that Ciel had seen yesterday, though this time the blonde had had more time to prepare. Even then Alois' eyes were puffy from crying and he seemed to wobble slightly as he stood.
Ciel was lead into the living room, where there was a tea pot, a small jug of milk and a pair of cups and saucers sitting on the table. The tea was earl grey, Ciel could smell it. It provided him no sustenance or nutrition but Ciel still enjoyed it.
Alois sat across with Ciel, fiddling with his jacket sleeves before pouring the tea, his hand shaking slightly as he did. Ciel, convinced Alois was going to spill the tea, so took the handle as well. "Allow me, I should hardly want you to get tea on the table cloth, as it would stain," Ciel stated, making Alois pull his hand away, the blonde's own cheeks turning a shade of pink, his eyes wondering down towards the table.
"So have you taken me up on my offer?" Ciel asked, pouring some milk into his tea.
"Yes." Ciel looked up to meet gazes with Alois, who had a sudden look of firmness.
"What is your desire?"
"My desire is to no longer in my current state, you are not allowed to take my soul until I am no longer the undignified mess I am now." Alois didn't stutter the entire time.
There was an drained yet determined expression on his face, though the cup and saucer he was holding shook and rattled in his hand. Alois wasn't calm or confident, he was still as nervous as he had been previously, but he had purpose.
Ciel nodded, he believed he could accomplish that. "It will only hurt for a couple of seconds."
