Chapter 4

The next day after school Keith went back to Galra Labs to learn more about the super spiders.

As Keith walked into the tall scientific building he ran into his first problem.
"Excuse me sir but to you have an appointment?" The secretary asked, stopping Keith.
Keith panicked and stood there with his mouth opening and closing like a gold fish. "Uh. Sorry what?" He asked stupidly and mentally cursed himself.

"Do you have an appointment here? Or are you here for the intern tour?" The secretary asked as she typed on her computer.
"If you are here for the intern tour find your badge and go over to the group." She said not looking at him.
Keith closed his mouth and looked down to see a line of name tags on the counter.

"Uh, what no- yes I am for the intern.. thing my badge is right here." He said picking up a random tag. The secretary raised an eyebrow and looked at the tag. "Ok... Steven Yeun. The group is up in the cross-species lab." She said as she rose an eyebrow at him and pointed him in the right direction.

Keith nodded and put his badge on and walked over to the elevator she pointed to. As he was riding up he looked down at saw a man fighting to break free from the guards, shouting something while being dragged away.
Keith winced and turned away, having a feeling that was the real Steven Yeun.

Keith had reached the cross-species genetics lab and looked around. He saw a group of kids that had badges like him and walked over, keeping quiet and staying to the back, following along with the tour.

Keith continued with the tour when the scientist smiled. "Ladies and gentlemen we are honored to have our very own Dr. Sendek here with us today." She said and the group started clapping as Keith looked over at saw a man with an intense looking face. Keith knew exactly who it was, having read his books before.

Dr. Sendek smiled at the group and nodded his head. "Thank you thank you. Here at Galra Labs I strive to try and complete cross-species genetics. Think about all the wonderful things we could accomplish with the knowledge. We could regenerate cells and we'll. Grow limbs back." he said as he lifted his stiff robotic arm with a lighthearted chuckle, causing the group to chuckle along with him.
"Can anyone tell me how me might be able to accomplish that? Any guesses?" Dr. Sendek asked asked raising a purple tinted black eyebrow. The intern group looked around confused, wondering who would be brace enough to make the guess.

"With animal DNA." A soft voice spoke from the back. The group parted to show Keith. Dr. Sendek looked at the young teen interested.
"Like how a lizard can regrow its tail after it's been chopped off. If we could figure out; or pinpoint what cells make that happen then we could try to transfer that and help people with prosthetics or people that are paralyzed. We could give them those cells and then boom. They could regenerate and strengthen their cells so they could walk again. They would need robotics to help their daily life." Keith tried to explain, for the second time at the lab, looking around at all the shocked faces.

"Fascinating.. what's your name?" Sendek asked in deep thought.
"Kei-uhhh Steven Yeun." Keith said as he pointed to his badge. Dr. Sendek nodded and the tour continued.

The Intern tour was over and Keith had learned a lot more about the super spider that bit him. He also maybe had stolen some super web pellets that were shown to them.

Now Keith was walking in his front door and looked to see Shiro sitting at the table with dinner made.
Keith cursed and set his bag down and walked over, sitting across from Shiro.
"I'm-"

"Don't." Shiro cut Keith off and looked over at him. "Where were you? I had dinner ready half an hour ago." Shiro said as Keith lowered his head.
"I'm sorry they need me at the school paper. I had to print out some photos." He explained.

Shiro nodded with a sigh and they both started eating.
"Don't forget that you are going to help me clean the basement." Shiro said and Keith nodded.

"You got it. After school I'll be here."
