"Honey, I'm home!" Wonsik, or better known as Ravi, yelled as he entered the front door. "Stop calling me that, the neighbours are going to actually think that we're a couple!" I retorted as I flipped the egg omelette. "How I wish we were," I heard Ravi mutter under his breath. "What did you say?" I asked as he entered the kitchen. "Uh, n-nothing! I was just praising your cooking skills! It never fails to amaze me. I'm hungry just by looking at the dishes," Ravi complimented before helping to set the dining table.

Ravi and I met each other in high school. Not only was he my classmate, but he was also my desk partner and lab partner etc. Many of our classmates and teachers believed that we were dating but we were just really good friends. Ravi always had my back no matter what. When I was bullied or teased by the school bullies, he would always be the first one to stand up for me. When I had trouble understanding the concepts taught in school, he would always be the first to offer his help to tutor me.

Naturally, we became closer over the years and he became one of my best friends whom I couldn't ever lose. When we entered college, my father shifted his business to the US so both my parents moved to America while I stayed in Korea to finish up college. At the same time, Ravi's parents wanted him to learn to be more independent by living on his own. Since I had the whole house all to myself and Ravi needed a place to stay, we decided to become roommates! Initially, it sounded like a good idea to live in the same house as your best friend, that is, until night time came along and I had to get used to Ravi's incessant snoring as my bedtime lullaby. Of course, I got used to it and besides, Ravi takes the initiative to do the household chores for me so I can't complain much.

My thoughts were interrupted by Ravi shouting in my right ear "The food's burnt! It's burnt!" before scrambling to snatch the frying pan away from me. "O-oh, sorry Wonsikkie, just throw it away," I chuckled as I saw him freak out over such a minor issue. Ravi simply nodded before dumping the charred veggies into the bin. "I hate veggies anyways," he chuckled before bringing the remaining dishes out to lay it on the dining table.

"So, how was work?" I asked casually as I sat across from him in our dining room. "Oh same old same old, I just finished composing a song for VIXX's new album," Ravi mumbled as he stuffed his face with food before swallowing hard and smiling a huge smile at me, clearly proud of his new accomplishment. He looked like a little kid who scored full marks on a spelling test, it was so adorable. I felt a small smile tug on my lips as my heart skipped another beat. It definitely wasn't easy living with your best friend when you have a not-so-tiny little crush on him.

"Impressive, what's the song like?" I asked, simply wanting to hear his deep voice and try to be a part of his world that seemed to revolve only around music. "It's unlike my usual compositions. This time, it's a slow ballad, a love song," Ravi admitted shyly as a small blush crept on his cheeks that were, once again, stuffed with food. It made him look like a squirrel. "Ooh, a ballad. Nice one," I stated as I stuffed a mouthful of rice into my mouth. "Mmhmm, someone inspired me to write that song," Ravi started but this time, instead of looking at me, he was looking down at his plate of food, as though he was too shy to meet my gaze.

"Oh, who?" I asked, kind of curious but more of disappointed. Ravi never told me that he had a crush, so who could possibly be his source of inspiration? Was it someone he met at work? Could it be that cashier from the convenience store? I knew from the way she looked at Ravi as if he was a piece of perfectly grilled meat. Ugh. My thoughts were interrupted when Ravi snapped his fingers in front of my face. "Hello? Earth to _______," Ravi half-shouted in my face as I snapped back to reality. "Y-yes, you were saying?" I chuckled as I slapped his hand away from my face, to which he winced in fake pain.

"Hmm, I'll let you listen to the demo song first before telling you," Ravi answered cheekily as he reached for his phone to play the song.

"Even if I'm not a good speaker, please understand me
