PART SEVEN ~

The orcs and the human rambled along through the forest for some time, and eventually Alissa became weary; her head drooping with exhaustion. Even the orcs were beginning to look fatigued, and from the hissed debate that took place, it seemed as though they had decided to set up camp.

"What do we do with the human?" Snarled one of the beasts, gesturing towards Alissa, who was still being held by the tight grip of the orc as she tried to keep her eyes open.

"Tie her up to that tree," Ordered the leader, throwing a long strip of rope at a nearby oak.

"Can't we, you know... have a little fun?" He asked with a smirk, moving his hand to the small dagger he held in his belt.

The leader grunted and walked away, leaving the orc chuckling to himself.

The orc who held Alissa dragged her over to the tree and threw her roughly down on the floor, taking hold of the rope and wrapping it round Alissa's stomach. He tied it tightly with a double knot, and then left the human alone.

The rough rope dug into her skin, and her stomach rumbled loudly with hunger. She glanced over to the fire that had been set up and stared longingly at the meat they were slowly roasting.

Some time passed, and Alissa drifted off into an uneasy sleep, slumped awkwardly against the tree with her head resting on the peeling bark. She awoke not long after, being roused by the snarls and laughs of her captors. They had finished their meal, and were now hissing at each other as their form of communication. She noticed one of the orcs was fingering the hilt of a dagger he held in his pocket, and he kept glancing over to her.

"Hey! Why don't we go give the girl a bit of fun over there!" He cried, and got a series of 'aye' in response.

The orc slowly rose from his position and started walking towards Alissa, his thin lips drawn back into a grotesque grin. His head twitched slightly, and he kept his hand constantly on the hilt of his weapon, which he drew as he got nearer to the human.

Alissa stared at him, defiantly. She titled her head up and he crouched in front of her and slid the blade across his tough, leathery skin, drawing no blood. He hissed, and reached out a crooked hand, brushing the hair away from the humans face.

Alissa suddenly spat in the orcs eye and he recoiled, roaring in disgust and anger. The orc pressed the dagger against Alissa's throat and she stared at the blade warily. Her breathing slowed a little, but she showed no signs of fear.

The orc pulled the knife away, seeming to study it's sharpness and then, with a quick glance at the human, he abruptly stabbed it forward into the girl's left shoulder.

Alissa screamed out in pain as the razor-sharp blade pierced her skin, and then slid back out. Lances of pain shot down her shoulder, in the exact position of her other wound. Warm blood gushed out of the gash, breaking the protective layer of healing herbs Kili had applied to the old wound, and soaking her shirt crimson.

With her hands trapped under the rope, she couldn't clutch at her wound and try to stem the blood flow. The only thing she could do was whimper with every shot of pain, even though she tried her hardest to stay quiet and brave.

The orc snarled in delight and ran his blackened nails down the side of Alissa's face, drawing blood from the side of her temple.

"That's enough!" Barked the leader, but his voice sounded slow and distant, like she was hearing it through a barrier. A sudden wave of dizziness washed over Alissa and the world around her faded from view. Her body went limp as she fell unconscious, and the floor beneath her was soon caked in a dark pool of blood.
