PART TWELVE ~
"Run! Alissa! Caspian! RUN!" The shrill screams rang through the air, making tears sprout from the eyes of the young girl.
A boy, slightly older, grabbed the girl's hand and dragged her away from her mother. The child screamed, resisting the rough pull of her brother, but his hand held hers in a vice-like grip. Her body wracked with sobs as she glanced over her shoulder, taking in the burning village. Her only home.
"Alissa! Come on!" The boy cried, taking his sister in his arms and running toward the forest.
"No! Mother!" She screamed, seeing a mangled, hideous creature come up behind her mother and slash it's rusty blade across her back.
Alissa's eyes widened in shock and everything seemed to go in slow motion from that point.
Her mother collapsed to the ground, lifeless, and the Orc glanced up and spotted the two children. It's mouth drew into a grotesque snarl and it started running jerkily toward the boy and girl.
"Alissa!" The boy screamed as the girl broke away from her brother and the Orc went to slash it's blade at her. Alissa was roughly shoved to the ground and she watched in horror as the axe sliced through her brother and he took his last breath.
"Caspian," she whispered, before scrambling up from the floor and disappearing into the forest.

Alissa woke with a start, shooting straight up from the ground, her head fuzzy as the world around her spun wildly. Her hands felt cold and clammy, and she was drenched in sweat. She frowned slightly, trying to be clear of her surroundings, but everything was still a blur, and she fell back down to the ground.
She waited for her vision to settle before slowly pushing herself from the floor once more. The brilliance of the sun shone brightly in her eyes and she had to squint to get sight of her surroundings. Her stomach was wrapped in a rough bandage of cloth, and she lay surrounded by mounds of crumbling bricks. Images flooded her mind, reminding her of the ordeal. Fire Wargs? She had never heard of such beasts!
She was brought out of her thoughts by a rustle behind her. Her eyes widened in panic, for she had no weapon, but relief washed through her like a tidal wave as the dwarf emerged from the ruins. He smiled gently when he noticed the human was awake.
"Hey. You okay?" He asked, slumping down next to Alissa. But he frowned as he noticed her pale face and lifeless eyes. "What happened? Everything okay?"
Alissa could hear the genuine concern edged in his voice and he reminded her of Kili. Oh, how she wanted to see Fill's brother once more.
"I'm fine," she whispered, her voice cracking slightly.
Fili offered her a flask of water and she took it gratefully, letting it wash down her stinging throat.
Fili smiled gently and they sat in silence for a few moments. The wind ruffled through Alissa's hair, blowing it forward so it fell in dark curls at her shoulder.
"Are you hungry?" Alissa politely declined the offer and slowly stood up. Fili raised an eyebrow at the strength of the girl, but also pushed himself off the ground.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Well, we can't exactly stay here can we?" Alissa responded, shrugging.
"Where do you say we go then?"
Alissa considered the question carefully, studying the ground for some time, before she glanced up at the dwarf, her eye glowing in the afternoon sun.
"To find your brother."
Fili's eyes widened slightly at the idea, but he said nothing.
"Okay. But you can explain everything that's happened to you and Kili on the way. If you know the way, that is."
Alissa nodded, grinning. "Of course. Well, as soon as we get back to the Orc camp I will."
Fili raised an eyebrow and pondered on the route. "I believe I know the path, more or less." He fell silent again, deep in thought, before nodding once more, his eyes lit up with confidence and hope.
After the discussion, they packed their belongings and starting walking at a slow pace to the forest from which they had come from. There, they paused, confirming the plan.
"You ready?" Fili asked once more, staring between the long, gnarled branches.
Alissa nodded confidently. "Lead the way!"

I hope it's okay so far. Remember any comments are greatly appreciated, and please vote!
I know this part was quite short, but I was a bit stuck for ideas on how to get through this part.
Aha. Did you cry at the dream? Probably not... I got a little teary when writing it because of how I imagined it, but I probably didn't describe it all that well.
Anyway. Please comment and vote!
