Thanks so much to ClaireBaggins for the idea that let me continue with my story. I was pretty puzzled about how to bring Kili back in it again, but this awesome LOTR/TH fan gave me a brilliant idea. You should definitely follow her, by the way! So, yeah. Thanks. And enjoy ~

PART TWENTY ~

Kili bolted through the forest, his feet thumping against the floor and making leaves swirl up in a whirlwind of foliage and dust. As soon as he had set sight on the trails of smoke from a campfire, he knew it'd be orcs. Fili and Alissa would have made sure they weren't spotted that easily.

He raced through the trees, dodging past outstretches branches like gnarled fingers and leaping heavily over fallen logs and trickling streams. It was hard to see in the pressing darkness of the forest, and only the thin pools of moonlight helped him find his way, at last, to the orc camp.

Sure enough, at least a dozen of the beasts were hissing and snarling and grunting at each other as they sat around a blazing fire, but some were using a more commonly known language throughout Middle-Earth and Kili caught snippets of Information from conversations taking place among them.

"Hoho. I hope they find 'em and beat 'em good. They deserve a painful death after what they did to Murag and his pack," grumbled one of the orcs, shaking his head in disbelief. Kili frowned as he prepared to silently creep out of the shadows. He began sliding his sword out of it's sheath with subtle movements, but something made him hesitate, and he slipped back into the darkness.

Kili suddenly became more alert and strained to hear the conversation as he heard the mention of another dwarf. "What happened, you say?! Why, you were there, were you not? When we arrived with the human-scum, we came across the corpses of Murag and his group. That goddamn dwarf had slaughtered them all and escaped. And while we were occupied, the stupid girl also escaped.  ."

The other orc frowned. "Well. What's going on now then? Where did Nagukk take his group?"

It's companion huffed in annoyance and it's eyes lit in frustration. "Do you pay attention to anything?!" The orc roared, making the other cower slightly.

"Y-yes! I-I do but I ca-can never remember!"

The orc growled again and shook his head. "Nagukk went off to the South with a small army of orcs," He explained, pointing through the treetops. "They had spotted the dwarf and human taking refuge in the cave up there. They've gone to finish 'em off. Give 'em a death painful enough to wish they'd stayed prisoners to us." He chuckled and his eyes flashed in delight.

Kili flared up in anger. That meant that Fili and Alissa would soon be in danger! They're good enough fighters, but defeating at least forty or fifty orcs will be no easy feat. His breathing quickened and he wanted nothing more than to jump out and slaughter them all, but he calmed his rage and sprung from the shadows, bounding back the way he came.

A/N: Yay. It's back to Kili again! Sorry this part is so small, I just had to fit this in somewhere.
Anyway. This is supposed to be a Kili fanfic, but I've realised that most of it is really Fili and Alissa, with snippets of Kili. I'm sorry about this, but It's just because of the path the story has followed. I mean, I've just been writing as I go along. That's probably what most of you do, but normally when I write something, I plan the kind of 'route' of the story - what's going to happen and when it's going to happen and stuff like that. I hope you don't mind the fact that most of the Chapter-things are about Fili and Alissa. It still is a Kili fanfic.

Anyway. Sorry about all that.
I hope you're enjoying it. I can imagine it's going to finish soon, as it is quite small. But I'll try and make it the best that I can.
Comments and feedback are greatly appreciated. And thanks, again, to ClaireBaggins for the awesome idea that really helped me continue the story.
