Brianna's POV:
It was just another casual day at school. As usual, I headed to my locker to exchange my books. Surprisingly, my talkative friend wasn't here to greet me. So, I just headed to my first period class.
- 1st period -
I sat down in my normal seat and put my earphones in. I had like a whole twenty minutes left until class started. So, why not block out these annoying people with something I actually enjoy. And with that in mind, I did, and settled my head down on the desk.
After a while, someone tapped me on my shoulder. I didn't respond at first cause I thought that they might go away.
I was wrong.
I decided to put my head up to see who the jerk was. And there, stood Jeremy. I didn't know he was in this class. I guess I don't pay much attention.
I got a notebook out and wrote down what I had to say. Then, I handed it to him.
"Well, I'm tapping you cause class is about to start. You know if Mr. Bridget sees you with earphones in, he's gonna take it."
He had a point. If Mr. Bridget even saw something that had to do with electronics, he would confiscate it.
I wrote him thanks and put my earphones and phone away. I noticed, he was still standing there. I guess he doesn't quite get the memo that I'm not in the mood.
I wrote him another note.
"Oh. You might've thought I forgot. I told you I was gonna figure out why you don't talk, one way or another."
I then wrote him an explanation. He was never gonna figure out why I didn't, and that was the truth.
"So it's personal. Fine, but I'm still gonna always be curious. Got that."
He winked at me and headed to his seat. I didn't know exactly if he was trying to flirt with me or if he was being obnoxious like his friends. But I did know one thing. If he was flirting, there was no point. I wasn't going to let anyone know how I felt and that's that.
- 3 minutes later -
Mr. Bridget finally came walking through the door. As usual, he told us how he was in the teacher's lounge making himself coffee. Like we cared. Then, he went to taking attendance.
When he called my name, I simply raised my hand. And like always, there were people laughing. I hated these people.
After Mr. Bridget finished taking roll call, he went to telling us about what our assignment was. Apparently we have a project to do. And to make it even worse, we have to do it with a partner. Great, now I actually have to spend time with one of these people. Let's just hope they think smarter then they act.
Mr. Bridget finally called my name. I had a ton of people looking at me. Probably cause they were hoping they wouldn't be my partner.
I couldn't take the staring anymore, so I just went to doodling in my art journal. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I love art. That's why I carry around an art journal. That way, if Haley is not around, I have something else to distract me.
After about a minute, he finally called my partner. My head went up. Of course he would put me with that person. I looked around and saw a ton of girls looking at me. I guess they were pissed cause I got assigned with him and not them. But who cares. They can give me the middle finger for all I care.
- Later in Class -
The bell finally rang. I begin the gather my things. As I did, I felt as though someone was staring at me.
I decided to turn around. And just like I thought, someone was there. And you could probably guess who it was. Jeremy. I got my notebook out and wrote down what I wanted to say.
"Well, I just came to talk to you about arrangements for our project. Partner."
I wrote him that Friday afternoon would be good. That is, if he didn't have any plans.
"Sure. Friday's cool. But one problem. I don't have your number so I can't text you when I need to."
I looked at him, but then handed him my phone so he could put his number in. I wasn't to trilled with him in possession of my phone. But then again, I didn't have anything personal on it.
''Wow. You don't have that many numbers on here."
I looked at him seriously. He must of got the memo, for he quickly put his number in and handed my phone back.
"See you later, partner."
And with that said, he headed out the room door. I decided I should probably go too. Or else, I would be late for next period.
Jeremy' POV:
- At Lunch -
I went to the line that had pizza, since that's what I normally got. After I got my food, I headed to my table. Like usual, I was the first one there. But soon after, Max showed up and the others followed suit.
Once everyone arrived, the conversation began.
I had my mind set somewhere else. Well that is until Chris called my name.
"What Chris?"
"You okay bro? You're sort of zonin off there."
"Yeah. I'm cool."
He then looked at me like he knew something was up. So, I just decided to let him know.
"Fine. I'm just thinking of the project for Mr. Brigdet's class."
"Oh yeah. I have Mr. Brigdet for third period. We have to work with partners. Mine is Jack, who is yours?"
"Brianna."
Then, the whole table bursted into laughter. I didn't get what was SO funny, but I was gonna figure out.
"What's so funny about that?"
"Everything bro. Your stuck with mute mouth."
"What the hell is that suppose to mean?"
"That means your stuck with the girl who never speaks. I kinda feel bad for you. After all, she is a total freak."
I was getting a little pissed. Why would they make fun of her? I mean sure, she didn't talk, but she was still human. Plus, they didn't even know the reason why she didn't talk. So, they had no right to make fun of her. I mean, I sorta hang out with her and she doesn't seem so bad.
I got up from my seat and grabbed my things.
"Yo bro, where are you going?"
"AWAY FROM YOU JACK ASSES!"
And with that, I left.
