It was so hard for him to ignore the aching feelings in his body whenever he saw Sigyn. His heart would thump and crash against his chest so fiercely that he felt like it was going to burst. His stomach released so many butterflies that it made him feel incredibly sick. His knees wobbled and felt so weak when he stood that he had to be sitting whenever he saw her. He had no idea how to make them all stop, so they continued during each passing second with Sigyn. This was something that he did not understand at all, for it was all new for him. Deep inside, he itched to do something, but he could never bring himself to do it. It angered him tremendously. He was the god of mischief, a powerful Asgardian, and he could not even kiss a girl.
Nothing in his entire life prepared him for this. He always supposed that he would be a lonely soul, doomed to be cast in his brother's shadows for eternity. Ever since he saw Sigyn more than a year ago, he felt different. For the first time, he felt something for another Asgardian, even though he still did not know what it was. He just knew he could not keep up with this forever if he wanted to survive. There was just no one to talk to. He dared not mention her name, even though his mother already knew about their conversations. Thankfully, Sigyn did not tell her much, and Loki was actually proud of her for not entirely telling the truth. It seemed like he was rubbing off on her in a good way.
Finally, he could not take the torture any longer, so he went to speak to his father one afternoon. His mother understood him more, but she would automatically make a connection to Sigyn, and he wanted to avoid that as much as possible. His father could also give a better viewpoint on how to deal with this situation. He must have gone through some similar things when he first met Frigga. Loki was sure of it. His parents did not have an arranged marriage, so his father knew about emotion more than any other man Loki knew. He could set things right, guide Loki in the right direction. Loki needed his advice in a risky matter like this.
Loki demanded the guards to open the throne room doors. His father sat on his throne deep in conversation. Well, his son was more important. Odin always spoke of duty to Asgard and to his family, and now he had to choose between them. Loki was confident that Odin would choose him first. And Loki was right. Odin halted his meeting and the other man was ushered away, so Loki and Odin could have total privacy. The throne room doors slammed shut, containing them both inside the sound-proof walls.
"I was in a meeting, son," Odin firmly said, glaring at Loki's figure.
He paced up and down around the throne room. "I know, Father. I-I'm just confused, Father."
"Confused about what?"
"Something is happening to me, Father. I don't know what it is, but it is controlling my life and I do not know what to do."
"Well, what is it Loki?" Odin furrowed his eyebrows.
"I-It's a girl," Loki forced himself to say. "I see her every day all the time."
"You do not see a girl every single
day," Odin replied. "There have been no girls coming to and from the palace."Now it was time for Loki to work his magic, to deceive his father like he did to so many others. "Oh, I know, Father. I see her in my dreams. It is as if she is right in front of me, her beautiful hazel eyes smiling at me like stars. Her vision haunts me during every second of every day, and it has for months."
"Oh, Loki," Odin sighed. "It's alright. There is nothing wrong with you, I promise."
"T-Then why does it feel like I am going to faint around her?!" he wondered. "I can feel my throat dry up when I try to talk to her, and I can hear my heart beats really clearly. I am a mess, Father." He could hear the evident panic in his voice, which was not entirely false.
