The night moon was alive tonight. Its rays unchallenged by the clouds. Mark, walked silently through the town. It was strangely desolate tonight, adding the factor that so many anthros lived in this boxed off town.
He was nervous.
But he remembered his past. Why would he be? The reality of the situation was that Mark liked Sheph. He liked him a lot.
"Okay," Mark says quietly, the sound of crickets had died off.
Mark pulls his phone from the back pocket of his black, skinny jeans accompanied by a jacket over his tank top, and some dark blue converse to tie it together.
I'm here. he sent
Cool! Come on in. came a reply only a couple seconds later,
Mark obliged to the request, and jumped over the booths entrance. Looking around, made him feel immensely crowded.A paw grabbed his shoulder, making him jump. He cursed as he hit his head on the ceiling of the booth.
"Hey," says Mark. Looking up at Sheph from the booth's floor.
"Come on, you're gonna get splinters if you stay down there to long." Mark took Sheph's paw, and stood up."You look nice" He said as they walked down the bare stone stairs, and arriving at the entrance to the towns basement. Mark looked over his outfit and laughed apologetically
"Ohh sorry" he said sheepishly.
"Don't be, you look good." Assured Sheph, "but now I look bad compared to you." He made a mock whine, and made a quick cheesy pose at the bottom of the stairs, Mark looked him over, a grey sweatshirt that looked big on him, and black sweats that where pretty baggy, he still looked cute."Well, its not like we're going on a date, or anything." Joked Sheph, snapping Mark back into reality. His ears drooped the tiniest amount.
"Yeah, and you look fine!" Replied Mark . He now focused on the green, and white striped couch that sat in a corner of the semi low ceilinged basement. There was a TV, and some controllers around it."I know, it's a trashy place." Commented Sheph with a grin, Mark snapped out of his daydream state, and blushed.
"No, it's sweet! I was just thinking about stuff." Mark replied. Sheph let out a small laugh, and shrugged.
"Ok. Anyway, I got a lot of games on here, if you want to play." Sheph sat down, " honestly its the only cool thing in here." Mark laughed. Sheph looked at him with a slight grin.
"Here"Mark took up a controller while Sheph flipped on some other dim lights to equalize the brightness.
"So how did you come into the whole hero thing?" Sheph asked as he got comfortable. Mark laughed and looked up in thought for a moment.
"I guess I just kind of fell into it." Mark said with a shrug causing Sheph to scowl.
"You can come up with something better than that." Sheph said pointedly causing Mark to groan.
"It really is not that interesting. I was living my life until they found me and made me come with them. Simple as that." Mark replied honestly. Sheph tilted his head at this curiously.
"They?" He asked, looking at Mark who seemed to be reminiscing. After a moment Sheph turned back to face the T.V."At least you're open about it." Commented Sheph sarcastically.
"Kyle said something very similar to that when he first saw me, but Kyle can make anything sting. It's impossible to win in an argument with him honestly." Mark said with a pretend shudder. They both laughed, and then Sheph apologized.
"Sorry, You just seem like someone I want to know better." He started.
Mark looked at him in surprise.
"You hardly know me."
"Exactly."Sheph shrugged, he laid back on the couch, and yawned before sitting up straighter."Anyway, how are we gonna play this." Mark stopped, "game?" Sheph looked at him in surprise.
"You're telling me you never heard of The Purpose? The only good sequel game created to an action game?" Sheph exclaimed. Mark rolled his eyes.
"Please, I was out doing the real thing!" Mark exclaimed, picking up the controller.
"Then you should be great at this." Sheph assured sarcastically.
