"I am gonna fail Ashok, for sure. "she cried. "No re, just go through these notes. You will clear the exam. You are a smart girl." I said, comforting her. "Leave it. We will concentrate on our coffee." She said while she closed my notebook. We were sitting in our college canteen. I was giving her just an overview of our syllabus and in such short period she has put her guards down. I told myself that this is going to be tough.
"I am Meera, by the way." She said. "Yes. I know!", damn what a lame reply I gave. "How?" She asked with few frowns on her forehead, giving me a serious look. " I.....I saw your name on the attendance sheet.... sorry" I said, trying to cover up the situation. She continued the same serious cum angry look towards me. I started looking here and there avoiding eye contact with her.
Suddenly she busted into laughter. After seeing the puzzled look on my face, she said," Hahaha, Ashok chill...I was kidding re. You are so cute." Cute???Now a day's girls will find anything cute. My heart almost came in my mouth and she was finding it cute. God knows what she meant.
"What else? Midterm college admission??" I asked to change the topic. Suddenly her smile disappeared. She restlessly threw a glance at her watch n said," Let's go, we are late for the lecture. We must hurry." Without waiting for my reply, she stood up, picked her Shabnam bag and looked at me. I took it as a signal and we both left the cafeteria.
