For a moment, I thought I was back in my bed at Skyworld, Pit next door to me. But as soon as I opened my eyes, I remembered the dead Pit I had seen on the ground in that city. I shivered, sitting on the side of the bed. I rubbed my hand over my stomach, almost feeling the phantom pain of the injury he had given me.

I sighed, standing up. There wasn't any time for me to feel sorry for myself or reminisce. Not after what had happened with the chimera.

I ran my hand through my hair, then went back to the throne room. Viridi was waiting, watching as I walked into the room.

"You slept like a log," Viridi said.

"Can you not watch me when I'm sleeping?" I frowned.

"What? You gonna stop me?" Viridi asked.

I sighed. "Whatever. Be a stalker if you want. What can we do today to help Skyworld?"

"I came up with a strange idea while you were sleeping," Viridi explained with a mischievous smile that stretched to her eyes. It made me a little nervous, seeing as Viridi's ideas during the war were to either kill all the humans or cause mass destruction that also ended up killing humans. "It could help make Nyx's plans fall apart."

I frowned. "Nyx foresaw Skyworld crashing to the ground," I said.

"And we won't be able to stop that," Viridi nodded. "But Nyx also foresaw you staying with her for the rest of time."

"This isn't new," I said slowly.

"Shut up and let me speak!" Viridi shouted. "It's a great plan."

"That just makes me worried."

"You are aware of the Fates, correct?"

I didn't say anything, just nodding. "They basically make the future."

"If you can convince them to help you," Viridi said, "then not only may the world not fall into the chaos that Nyx predicts, but you may be able to free yourself. It might not work, but at this point, there's no harm trying. Plus, I know where one of them is currently residing. Pretty smart, huh?"

I put my hand on my chin, thinking. "But I would need to get to all three of them before Skyworld falls, because I doubt Nyx would let me go off on my own."

"For saving something as big as Skyworld, you would need all three and a bunch of luck. They can only do so much. But you and Nyx are only two beings. When the threads of fate being to unravel, all sorts of small things are possible."

"So if I go to this one Fate," I said, beginning to understand and have some hope, "with enough luck, Nyx will let me go?"

"I don't know that she'd let you go willingly," Viridi said, "but I figured that it was something you would want to try."

"Let's do it," I nodded.

"It shouldn't be horribly dangerous, but be on your guard."

She summoned a door, watching me as I went toward it. It opened outward suddenly, and I yelled as something sucked me through the door, the world spinning. It stopped as soon as it had started, and I found myself on the ground, dazed.

"You couldn't have warned me?" I asked, getting to my hands and knees.

Viridi said something, but it was lost as I looked at my surroundings. I was in a strange cave, but everything was covered in cyan colored gems that emitted light. It wasn't enough to be overwhelmed with light, but it was enough to be amazed. I looked at the ceiling, seeing the gems way up there, too. They were in all sorts of shapes, some of them long and sharp and hanging from the ceiling like icicles, a few of them smooth and taking up a large amount of the wall. I walked up to one, seeing my reflection in it as clearly as a blue tinted mirror. I ran my hand over it, but no prints were left on the gem.
