*Mindy's POV*

I wake up due to my phone ringing. It was a text from my boyfriend, Adam. We've been dating for a year now. He's so funny and sweet. I'm so lucky to have him. I think I love him. I don't know what I would do without him.

I unlock my iPhone and look at the message.

"Hey, can you come over?"

"Yeah. Be over soon," I reply.

I get out of bed and walk over to my dresser. I pull out a pair of white skinny jeans and a green creeper shirt. I slip out of my pajamas and into my clothes quickly. I walk into the bathroom and brush out my hair.

I walk down into the kitchen and find my roommate, Sierra, eating a bowl of cereal at the table. I grab an apple and my keys, planning to eat it in the car.

"I'm heading over to Adam's," I tell her and open the door.

"'Kay," she replies.

The drive over there was only twenty minutes. I pull the key out of the ignition and open the door. I walk to the front door and check to see if it's locked. Nope. I walk in and call out for Adam.

"Adam! I'm here! Where are you?"

"In the living room," he replies. I walk through the dining room into the living room and find him on the couch.

"Hey, babe," I say and sit by him.

"Hey. Listen I need to talk to you."

"Okay. What's up?" He looks down at his hands like he's trying to say something important. Maybe hard to say. Uh-oh.

"I think, I think we should break up," he says. Part of my dies inside. I love him, but he wants to break up?

"W-why? Did I do something?" He shakes his head. "Okay," I say and start to get up. I will not cry. I will not cry. Well, not until I get into my car at least.

I turn my back on him and start walking to the door.

"Hey, Mindy?" he calls. I stop, but I don't look at him.

I wait for a response and when it doesn't come, I turn around. I find myself staring at the center of his chest. He leans in, his lips right by my ear.

"April fools," he whispers. Wait, what? I smack his chest.

"Adam! Why would you do that? I thought you were being serious!"

"That was the point. I really do need to talk to you. Or tell you something. Ask you something really." I nod my head.

I watch as he pulls something out of his pocket and get down on one knee. He opens a box, showing a ring. I cover my mouth smiling.

"I've loved you since the day I saw you. From that moment, I knew I wanted you to be mine. Mindy, will you marry me?"

I couldn't make myself speak, so I just nod my head instead. He takes the ring out of the box and slips it on my finger. He hugs me, and I hug back.

"I love you too," I say. He leans down and kisses me.

I will be with Adam forever.
