"Wahh Elizabeth, your Charm is so cool. I wish I had one," said a fellow classmate as they watched one of the hero Charms shapeshift into different animals.
Looking at her flaunting her Charm to your classmates, you irritatingly muttered under your breath. "Damn furry."
Elizabeth went back to her original form as her eyes narrowed towards you. "Jung Taejun, would you mind repeating yourself?" said the girl arrogantly as she snapped at you.
You turned around to face her, your pinkish orange hair flowing smoothly at your side.
"Kim Elizabeth, I'm surprised you couldn't hear me, I thought you had super hearing? I mean—being an animal and all," you smugly said as you gave her a mischevious grin.
"Very funny Taejun," Elizabeth said through gritted teeth. You could tell that she knew she had lost. Even with a Charm, no one could beat you at sly remarks. After ensuring your win, you took a book out from within your desk and began to read until the teacher came in.
As the teacher came in, he ordered for all students to get to their desks. Everyone except for Elizabeth, who sat atop her desk smugly, sat down at their desks.
"That goes for league heroes too, Miss Kim," your teacher said, smacking his attendance book down on the teacher's desk. Elizabeth just gave her usual annoying chuckle and sat down at her desk, flipping her hair, which unfortunately whipped you in the face. Pissed, you swore you'd cut off her fake blonde hair one of these days as you rubbed your face.
Once the commotion had calmed down, the whole class rose and bowed to the teacher before sitting back down. You were just about to pull out your book again when the teacher began to introduce someone.
"This is Jeon Jimin, he's transferring here from another class. I expect all of you to welcome him warmly."
At his name, many of the girls, including annoying Elizabeth started to fangirl. You rolled your eyes in annoyance. Jeon Jimin, everyone knew him. A handsome face, a good body, and an idol at that, he was the most popular human within your age range. Better yet, he was known to be flirtatious and a playboy, catering to whatever woman flung herself at him. As he entered the room, the girls started to get louder. You ignored whatever they saw in this guy and began reading your book again as he introduced himself.
"Hello, ladies~ and gentlemen~! It's your one and only Jeon Jimin," he said, winking and blowing kisses around the room.
While all the girls swooned, you wanted to cringe until your chin combined with your neck. This was the most disgusting introduction that you had to experience and having all the girls act like dogs wasn't helping your case. Trying your best to focus on the book rather than the cringy boy, you blocked all the sound out until you felt your hair being touched by someone behind you.
Raising your hand to your hair, you whipped around and saw the same cringy boy sitting directly behind you. At this point, you could feel Elizabeth staring daggers at you but you didn't care. Silently you mouthed, "What do you want?"
He only licked his lips and pointed at you. At his response, you rolled your eyes irritably and turned back around. No matter how much he poked and prodded at you for the remainder of the class, you ignored him. Finally, when it was time for lunch, you had had enough of his play. You turned around angrily and was close to shouting "Fuck off!" but held it in. You gave your best fake smile and asked, "Why were you poking me throughout the entire lecture?"
"You're pretty," was his only response. Now you were getting pissed. Did this guy only know how to compliment or could he not carry a proper conversation?
"Thank you for the compliment, but I would appreciate if you didn't bother me from now on. Good day," you said, clenching your jaw as you got up from your seat, slamming your book down on your desk. Watching him jump a bit made you amused. You then took your bag and left the classroom, hearing the various squeals of girls as they surrounded him. Hearing his muffled voice in the horde of girls made you smile a little as you made your way to the courtyard.
Taking your usual place underneath the large tree that was planted in the center of the school, you took out the lunch that your mother had prepared for you. Taking in your surroundings as you ate, you saw various Charm students fooling around with their powers. Narrowing your eyes, you shook your head at how idiotic they were. If people with Charm were found out, they started to work for the hero league as soon as they reached high school. Thankfully, no one had found out your secret yet.
Being born with Charm was both an advantage and a disadvantage. If raised right, you could be strong and hide from the government, possibly leading a normal life. But if raised without supervision, one could wreck havoc and would be immediately killed by the government. Obviously, the students at your school developed Charm and were not born with it, explaining their immature actions. People who developed Charm were much weaker than those born with it. You had learned it was because of their weak soul power. Shaped by harrowing society in this day and age, they believed they were special. Which caused them to have a dulled Charm.
These thoughts circulated in your head until you were shaken once again when a black haired boy popped out from above. Jeon Jimin. You sighed, annoyed.
"What do you want," you asked, making sure that he heard your irritable tone.
"Didn't I tell you before? I want you," he replied, a playful smile adorning his face.
