"Anna! Wake up sweetheart, you have to say goodbye."
I slowly opened my eyes to see my mom. "What? Why?" I asked, sitting up.
"Because dad has to leave early."
"Why?"
My mom sighed. "Let himself tell you before you get to school."
Mom walked out of my room and closed the door.
Why was my dad leaving so early? He was supposed to leave in a few more weeks, why now? I guess you have to wake up to get those answers. I put on a white tank top with a flannel, black leggings and brown boots, and put my hair in a ponytail before going downstairs to our little meeting.
"Finally" I heard my dad say as I walk downstairs. Good morning to you too, dad.
"Sorry" I mumbled.
"Dad, why are you leaving so early?" I asked.
"Did I say you could ask young lady!?"
"No, but-"
"Just shut it Anna, It's not like I was going to miss you or anything."
OK, so if you haven't noticed, I don't get mad easily. I'm pretty calm in these type of situations. But this, this was the last straw.
"You know what dad? I bet you are embarrassed of your own family. That's why you're leaving so early isn't it?! Just because you are embarrassed of me?!"
I was so mad at my own father. I thought fathers were supposed to care for their daughters, no matter the situation?! I guess mine just doesn't care.
My dad looked me straight in the eyes.
"So what if I am?! I didn't ask to have a mistake like you. I just wanted to run a business but of course you got in the way!" And with that, dad grabbed his bags, and left.
I knew it. I knew it all along that he didn't love me.
I opened the door and shouted what I have always wanted to say.
"Well, I don't love you either! Don't come back unless you learn to accept us!" I slammed the door shut. I turned around to find a wide-eyed mom and a teary-eyed Sam.
"Anna..go back to your room!" my mom shouted.
I ran upstairs to my room, crying.
Why does these things always happen to me? I don't deserve this! I just wanted my family to love me back because of who I am, not on what my voice sounded like.
Somehow, I just didn't care about school at the moment, so I skipped it. I cried all day until I decided to shape up.
Anna, shape up! I know your dad probably hates you more than ever, but don't forget about the stone! Don't forget about Sam, mom, and Alison! Don't forget that you still have a chance to redeem yourself. Now go out there and prove to the world that you can do anything!
I thought about it for a minute and realized, I was right. I can do anything as long as I just try. I dried my eyes, put on some new clothes, and got out the stone.
I took all the evidence out and looked at it for a few minutes. Austin's mom died, but why? and how? Those are the two questions that I need answered. Let's start with the easiest one, how did Austin's mom die?
Well first off, I needed to know where which funeral center Allie was buried. Then, I would have to dig up the body, then I would know what happened to her.
I thought for a moment.
After a few minutes of thinking, I had a plan.
I would like to tell you, but I guess you will have to wait. In the meantime, I took a short nap, hoping to avoid Sam or my mom.
But you have to understand, It's not my fault. If my dad would've been nice to me, I would've been nice back, but nope. He has to judge his own daughter. Oh well, I gave him a piece of my mind, and I hope that piece of my mind sticks to his.
**********
It was night time, and I would finally act out my plan.
First, I would dress up in black, look up Allie's name in the funeral website, find her body, and then, (The most hated part) I would dig up her body and search for clues to how she died.
Perfect plan right?
What could possibly go wrong?
Oh wait, I could think of a million things that could go wrong. Oh well, might as well do it now.
I quietly put on black leggings, black boots, a black jacket, and a black hat to cover my orange hair. After that I faintly walked to my laptop and searched up "Allie Young" in "Funeral Services."
After a while, I found her. She was in the Prurient Brothers Funeral service. I checked the address.
It was at least ten miles away. the question is, I could make it, but how could I start my truck's engine without making any noise?
I looked at my options and the only choice I had...
was to ride my bike there.
My legs were going to be so worn out, but it was the only choice I had without getting caught.
I grabbed the address which I printed out, made sure everything was in order, and then softly went out my window, going outside.
I grabbed my bike and started going to the Prurient Brothers Funeral service.
After about two hours of agony, I finally found it. Once there, I took a rest and took a bite out of my sandwich that I packed. I also gulped down a gallon of water just to make sure.
After five minutes of resting, I went to the office where the location of Allie's grave stone and medical records were being held. I tried opening the door, but it was locked. First thing to know about locked doors: They could open with a hairpin. And guess who had one?
Yup, I may have a weird voice, but I have a brain. I've seen the movies.
I opened the door with my hairpin and looked though the cabinets. I found where Allie was being held and her medical records.
It said that she has a family history of heart attacks, but she didn't die because of one. Even the records say, Death: unknown.
I could go though the rest later, I had to hurry before morning.
Allie was in section 1, row b. I headed off there with my shovel and looked at what the gravestone said.
Here lies Allie Daisy Young, she was a good mother, and a good wife. May god take good care of her in heaven.
I was about to start shoveling, but I heard a noise behind me. I quickly hid behind one of the gravestones and looked out.
There was a man there next to Allie's grave. He took a knife and started to dig out Allie's body. Well, there goes my innocence that I held so dearly. The moon shone right on his face, and I couldn't believe it.
Dad?
Uh oh. What's Anna's dad doing here? And why is he digging up Allie's body? I'll leave that to you guys. I hoped you liked the chapter. If you did, make sure to press the vote button!
