I got up as quickly as I could to get dressed. I always tried my best to get up earlier because I wanted school to be over with. I put on a white t-shirt with a short red jacket over it, a pair of black jeans, and some brown boots. I grabbed my backpack and went downstairs.

I saw my mom, who was reading the newspaper and drinking peppermint coffee.

"Why are you so excited this morning Anna?" My mom asked me, clearly seeing my excitement.

"Because it's Friday mom! Everyone loves Fridays!" I lied.

I was actually excited because today I'm going to be posting my first video on YouTube! I'm excited but nervous, I mean what if my impersonations were not good? What if the comments made me feel worse? I can worry about that later. I had to get to school!

I kissed my mom goodbye and walked to my sliver truck. I got in and started driving to the school. Today, I didn't care if I got bullied. I didn't care if I got made fun of, or even if I got pushed into a locker, today was going to be a (hopefully) happy day. I got to school in 5 minutes flat.

I grabbed my backpack and walked into the school doors, not talking. I was excited for later, but I still need to keep quiet. At least until I go back home. "Hey Baby voice!" Everyone called out to me.

I waved and waited by the stairs. I watched as everyone tricked me into speaking.

"Hey Baby voice, did you do the homework?" A senior named Thomas asked, grinning.

I nodded my head yes and looked around to see if Austin was there to pick on me. As you would expect, he was. "Yo Baby voice! How was your day yesterday?" I shrugged then pointed at him.

"You want me to ask how my day was?"

I nodded. "My day was fine, but it was great once I started picking on you."

Jerk.

"Enough about that, what would you rate my bullying?"

Hmmm. I would love to say zero because that's how popular you are to me. But instead I shrugged, for that was the only thing I can do right now. Austin said something back, but I didn't listen because I heard the sound of the school bell saving me.

"OK! see you later Baby Voice!" I waved and went to my locker. The lockers at this school were incredibly small so you had to wait until people got out of your way. I went to the hallway and stood next to my locker, waiting for my locker mates to finish up.

"Hey! Give me my books back! Please!" I turned my head into the direction of the voice. I see Austin, and a girl with brown hair in a ponytail, red glasses, a black and white striped shirt, blue jeans, and red converse. It seemed that Austin was throwing her books around to his friends.

I had to help her.

"Hey!" I yelled to them. I didn't care if I was going to get bullied because of this. I wanted to help this girl.

"Oh, so Baby Voice finally talks huh?" Austin said, chuckling.

"Yes, I talk now to tell you to stop bullying this girl. It would make a great deal with me, and a great deal with her." I pointed at the girl.

"Oh I see, you have a new friend. You would be great friends considering, you're both rejects." Austin and his gang pushed me and the girl out of their way and headed to their lockers. I shook my head and went to pick up the girl's books.

"Here you go." I put the books in her hands.

"T-thanks."

"No problem. What's your name? I've never seen you before."

The girl put up her head. "A-Alison. Alison Johnson. I moved here from California."

That's why I didn't recognize her. She was the new kid, meaning a new target for Austin.

"Hey, can you show me where Mrs. Davis' room is? I have her for English 1st hour." She smiled shyly.

"Sure. I was going to her class for English too. Let me get my folder from my locker real quick." I went to my locker and grabbed my folder.

"Follow me." I said to Alison. She nodded and we started walking to Mrs. Davis' class.

"Hey Alison, can I ask you a question?" Alison hesitated then nodded.

"Why didn't you make fun of my voice? Everyone else has done it, so why not you?"

Alison thought for a moment. "Because even though your voice is different from others, it doesn't mean that it's not special." Alison said, looking at me.

"But why do they make fun of it if it's special?" I asked her.

"Because they are jealous. They don't know how important it is to be different." Alison said, looking ahead.

For the new girl, she was smart. And that's saying something. I thought long and hard at what she said for the rest of the walk in the school hallway.

"This is it, Mrs. Davis' English class." I said pointing at the wooden door.

Alison and I walked into the classroom in silence. We quickly took our seats and waited for class to start.

"Kids listen up! We have a new student today. Alison, would you please go to the front of the classroom?" Alison nodded and went to the whiteboard.

"H-hello. My name is Alison and I moved from California. My favorite subjects are Math, Social Studies and English. My hobbies are reading, studying, painting, and playing with my dog, Spot."

"Studying is for nerds!" Austin yelled from the back. I turned around and glared at him. He smirked and looked at Alison.

"Everything you do is for nerds! You're a nerd and everyone knows it!"

I looked at Alison and she was almost crying. I sighed. "Austin! Please leave Alison alone! Do you want lunch detention again?" Mrs. Davis yelled at Austin.

"No ma'am!" Austin said, terrified.

"Good. That'll do Alison. You can go sit next to...Anna. She's over there, near the corner." Alison nodded and ran to the empty seat next to mine.

"Yay! I sit next to you. I hope this class will be more fun with you around." Alison said.

"I hope so too Alison."

But classes are never fun with Austin Young around. Especially with the new kid and the redhead in the same class.
