Sleepover Time!

I walked into my room, feeling happy. It's amazing what a feeling can do to you. I opened up my laptop to play some cool math games. I know it's a little silly, but that was my shit when everyone was in like 3rd grade, so if you want to judge me for bringing back memories, go ahead. I was playing this game called Papa's Pizzeria, when Alison texted me.

Hey Anna what's up? I just wanted to ask you if you wanted a sleepover at my house? I think you should hang out with me later, it would be fun!

I was so excited, since I never really been to a sleepover before due to the fact that I was bullied a lot these past few years.

I quickly texted back, Sure! What time?

I looked at my phone in suspense, hoping that I can go to her house as quick as possible. After about five minutes of waiting and losing hope, I heard my phone ding.

You can come anytime that you feel like it! I'm hoping soon, so tell your mom and start packing!

I laughed at her comment. I was about to pack my things before something dawned upon me.

I texted a little slower and nervous this time. Alison, what if your parents make fun of me? You know, my voice and all? What should we do?

I waited what felt like hours before she texted back.

Anna, I know you're insecure about it, but you have to face your fears at some point. If my parents make any comment about it, I'll have your back OK? Please come over, I'm so bored, plus, it would be really fun! We can gossip, do what other girls do! Please? :(

I thought it over and sighed. If Alison's parents make fun of me, so be it.

OK, I'll tell my mom and text you when I'm on my way OK? I texted back.

While waiting for her reply, I went downstairs to tell my mom about having a sleepover with Alison. Of course, I never actually told her that I had a friend, but before I didn't have any proof, but now it will be different because I had texts to prove it.

"Hey mom," I said walking up to her. She was always drinking peppermint coffee no matter what day it was, and I don't know why, but it's just funny to me. I have to figure out why later.

"Hey honey, what's up?" She asked, with a smile on her face.

"I was wondering if I could have a sleepover at Alison's later?"

"Who's Alison?" She asked.

"She's my friend," I said. "I met her on the first day of school, and I helped her when she was being bullied."

I then showed her me and Alison's texts to prove that she was real. Don't act surprised, we all have had our imaginary friends before, and we probably scared our parents to death. I still miss you Jordan you were a great boyfriend, and I hope you miss me too.

I watched as she looked though our texts and smiled. "That's great Anna! You can go right away! I hope you have fun, and let me know how it goes. I love you." She then pecked my cheek, smiled, and drank her coffee.

I smiled and ran upstairs to get packed and text Alison that I will be there in a few minutes. She put a thumbs up and I made sure I had everything. I checked everything off my list and went downstairs to put my boots on. I waved my mom goodbye, and went into my truck, looking at Alison's directions to her house.

I parked my truck on the side road and looked at her house. The house was two stories tall, it was all white with a little bit of sky blue. There were two windows on the top story, across from each other. The bottom story of the house had giant three sets of windows on the left side of the house, and the right side had a regular sized window in the middle of the wall. I got my backpack out of my truck and went to knock on the white door.

After a few minutes of waiting, a modernly looking lady opened the door. She had her silky long chestnut hair in a ponytail, her oval face was kinda dull. She wore a green light sweater with blue jeans, and she was staring at me with her indigo eyes.

This must be Alison's mom, I thought.

"Hello Mrs. Johnson, Is Alison here?" I asked, still remembering what awful voice I had.

She looked concerned at me, but quickly changed her expression when she saw me look at her. "Aw yes. You must be Anna. Come on in, Alison is upstairs in her room."

I nodded and went upstairs, running away from the awkwardness. I knocked on the door to be thought of Alison's room. "Come in," I heard her say.

"Hey Alison," I said, cheerful.

"Anna! Yay you're here!" She ran out of her seat and hugged me.

"Good to see you too Alison."

"Now that you're here, let's play some games!" She took my hand and dragged me out of the room. But before she could, I dropped my backpack out on the floor and chuckled.

This was going to be fun.
