Alison's dog, Spot ^

Alison dragged me into her living room, with a smile on her face. Her living room was very spacious. The walls were a very light green, with many family pictures of Alison and her family. Once I saw the pictures with her family, I felt a bit if jealously, and a bit of sadness as well. I was jealous because I wish I had a perfect family like hers. I wish my father loved me, my brother would stop teasing me and would leave me alone. I also wish my mother would stand up for herself and her family. I felt sad because I realize I might never get a perfect family.

Right next to one of the pictures was Alison's dad. He was staring at it when Alison and I came in. "Oh boy," I hear Alison mumble under her breath. What do you mean, "Oh boy?"  That's not good. I'm guessing her dad's a jerk, great.

"Hey dad," Alison murmured, obviously nervous. You could tell she was nervous by her voice, and how her hands were shaking uncontrollably, which got me even more scared.

Her dad turned around and I could see why Alison was so nervous. He wore a red flannel, like a lumberjack's. He wore some sky blue jeans to complete the "lumberjack" look. Once he saw me, he frowned. Uh oh I thought, already wanting to get out of here.

"Hey Alison, who's this?" He pointed at me. I was scared, and I will probably will be for the rest of my life. His voice was very menacing, sounding like a villain from a low-budget superhero movie.

"Dad, this is my friend Anna, she will be staying the night." Alison answered.

I spoke, but not before taking a deep breath. "Nice to meet you Mr. Johnson." I spoke quietly, like I always would. I looked up at the discount villain which had to be Alison's father, and waited for his response.

"Your voice..." He started to say.

Oh boy, here it comes, I thought, closing my eyes.

"Is so cute, how did you get it!" he exclaimed.

Wait, what?  I thought this was going to be that part in the story where he doesn't like me, I stand up for myself, then he accepts me? What is going on?

I look at Alison and give her a confused look. She just smiled at me and shrugged. "Honestly, your voice sounds like a baby! That's a good thing of course, because babies are cute!" He then hugged me to death, kissed Alison on the forehead, then went into the kitchen.

I looked at Alison like I was crazy. She just giggled and smiled. "You would think that my dad would be mean to you, but he won't. He's actually nice, he can be a bit annoying at times, but I still love him."

"Huh," Was all I managed to say.

Alison grinned again then dragged me back into her room. She closed the door the went on her computer. "So, what do you want to do?" I asked her.

She shrugged then thought of an idea. "Did I show you Spot, my dog?" I shook my head no. Right when I was shaking my head, Alison once again grabbed my hand and dragged me to the laundry room. I guess that's how she pushes people. I suddenly feel bad for the people in her Gym class.

Her laundry room was a deep blue with the washer and dryer in the left corner. On the right corner was I assumed to be Spot, Alison's dog. He laid in his bed, which was a rose red. "Aw, he's cute Alison. What breed is he?" I asked, petting him.

"He's a border collie. We got him as soon as I moved here." Alison grinned, "I'm guessing he likes you."

She pointed to Spot, who was whining for me to pick him up. I laughed, then picked him spot, careful to not hurt him. "Alison, he's so cute ahh!" I yelled.

Alison laughed. "I read somewhere that humans have a tendency to squeeze cute things, so please don't hurt him, I love him!" We both laughed. It was amazing how Alison could cheer me up so quickly. I guess that's what friends are for, right?

"Let me guess, you read it yourself and it wasn't for school?" I teased.

Alison nodded. "Well what else am I supposed to do? I get bored after I do my homework and study."

I put down spot on his bed and shrugged. "What time is it?" I asked her. She looked at her clockwork watch. "6:30, why?"

"Because maybe later we can gossip like you said over text?" I asked, and she nodded. "But why do you want to do it at night?"

"Because it's more mysterious and more fun."

Alison rolled her eyes, smiled, then once again, dragged me into her room to play some board games.

"Anna! I think it's finally time for gossip!" Alison yelled. I looked up from my phone. She was wearing a spider-man onesie.

I rolled my eyes playfully as I went into the bathroom to change into my PJ's. After I was done, I went back into Alison's room to find candles.

"Alison, where did you get these candles?" I asked, a little scared.

"Well, you did say that you wanted it to be dark and mysterious right? I'm just trying to set the mood." I nodded and went to sit next to her on the bed. Alison got up, turned off the lights and went on her phone.

"So who do you want to gossip about?" I asked.

"I have the perfect person. Just give me a second."

After a while, Alison got the right person. She showed up a picture of him.

Uh oh.

It was Austin.
