The applause ceased, and Cardin and I were dismissed. Professor Goodwitch arranged the next match while I made my way back to the stands where teams VYTL, RWBY, and JNPR were gathered in a group. I was immediately hit with a barrage of questions and compliments.

"Nice job, dude!" "Was that thing at the end your semblance?" "That was awesome!" "How did you do that?!"

"Quiet, please!!! We're about to begin the next match!" Goodwitch's voice broke through with authority.

The students settled down, and I took a seat between Pyrrha and Yang. DJ was pestering Pyrrha again, talking her up, flirting and trying hard to make some head-way with her. She conversed with him pleasantly, but it was pretty clear he wasn't getting far. Then again, she didn't seem uncomfortable with him anymore, so maybe there was hope.

My eyes turned to Skyler, who was looking in the opposite direction as she listened to a conversation between Jamie and Weiss. She couldn't fool me though. I could see her taking occasional glances at DJ and Pyrrha out of the corner of her eye.

I could only smile and shake my head as I thought about how this little love triangle could play out.

A voice interrupted my thoughts. "(F/n)?"

I turned to Yang. Her lilac eyes were locked on me intently, filled with concern. I knew exactly what she was thinking. It was a pretty common reaction for people whenever they saw my semblance for the first time.

I answered her questions before she could ask them. "It's called 'mass distribution'," I explained. "I can use my aura to manipulate the molecular density of anything I touch. Essentially, I just made his mace and armor too heavy for him. It's really nothing to worry about."

Her look of concern switched to one of shame. "I didn't mean t-..."

"Hey," I cut her off. "It's alright." My arm wrapped around her shoulders and pulled her close. My signature grin showed itself as I held her. "You don't need to apologize or worry. Just trust me."

Her face softened and a faint smile appeared. She even blushed lightly. Apparently, she was satisfied because she scooted closer until she was pressed against my side and rested her head on my shoulder. "Ok," she whispered. "I trust you."

We soon found ourselves in the cafeteria at a long table that barely accommodated our group of twelve.

Yang sat next to me on the bench as we ate and talked- sometimes just to each other, other times joining in the group discussion. She hadn't left my side since combat class, usually either keeping my arm around her or holding my hand. I, of course, didn't mind at all. It felt good. "Right" would probably be a better description.

At the moment, I was just focused on my food. I was starving! As I took a bite, Blake spoke. "So, (f/n), what are you and Yang doing for your date tomorrow?" I looked at the golden-eyed girl seated directly across from me. 'I should have known somebody would bring that up.'
