The day for Doubles rounds came pretty quickly.

I watched the match between Cinder's team and team CFVY carefully. I honestly didn't like what I saw. Something was definitely off. The way Coco and Yatsuhashi were beaten seemed almost too easy.

Ruby's friend Penny was quite impressive. Her control over her floating swords was intriguing. It was pretty cool to watch.

Finally, Weiss and my beautiful Yang were up against a team of nuts from Atlas. Team FNKI's participants were a dark-skinned boy with a weapon in the form of a trumpet and a Faunus disco chick on roller blades.

The fight started with the dude blasting his trumpet with a jazz shake that made me cringe. "My god!" I exclaimed in horror. "Doesn't he ever tune that thing?!"

As the battle continued, the disco girl had Yang frustrated. Her eyes were glowing red. She was really getting worked up.

We worried that it might be over when the trumpet guy Flynt knocked Weiss down and turned his attention to Yang.

Weiss reacted by tackling him into an erupting geyser, knocking herself out in the process. Unfortunately, her effort was futile since the punk got right back up.

I couldn't help but smile as I watched. Yang had just fully activated her semblance. These Atlas kids were doomed.

I was right, of course. Yang forced herself toward Flynt and knocked him out cold. The girl Neon lost her balance and went flying. Yang reacted by shooting her out of the air. The buzzer sounded, and it was over.

I got so excited I couldn't stop myself from running down into the arena. Yang was more than happy to jump into my arms and giggled as I spun her in a couple circles.

I set her down and kissed her shamelessly in front of the whole crowd. I didn't care who saw it.

As I escorted Yang and Weiss out of the ring, the match-up system started spinning on the monitors. The first slot landed on Jameson and myself. "Guess we're up!" I said to Yang. I gave her a quick kiss and stepped back into the ring. "Good luck!" she yelled back at me.

As Jamie joined me in the ring, our opponents were chosen. Once again, we were matched up against a familiar face from Shade Academy. I looked at Jameson to see his reaction. His look of terror told me he, too, had recognized the face of Miss Jenessa Abernathy. I smiled as I remembered her leading a group of young ladies fawning over Jamie at the start of the semester. That issue had since passed, but it still made for a good laugh every now and then.

I couldn't help but tease when the familiar girl with long black hair and deep blue eyes entered the ring with her violet-haired partner. "Heads up, Jamie!" I joked. "Your #1 fan-girl is back!"

"Not funny," he muttered.

Port's voice came over the speakers. "Now, in the ring, we have (F/n) and Jameson of team VYTL! Versus Jenessa and Orchid of team JOLT!"
