Could It Be Something More?

Joseph gave me a ride to school the following week since my car had broken down and was at the mechanic. As we walked in together I  spotted Stephanie by her locker giving me a death stare. I rolled my eyes and walked past her to my locker. "Don't you wanna know why I'm death staring you?" She asked me. "Not really. I don't care," I said collecting my books. "Well I'll tell you anyway. If you think you're gonna get away with going on a date with my future husband you're dead wrong."She said before turning to apply lip gloss. I rolled my eyes. Future husband. What a load of bull.
"Yeah okay Stephanie, because he asked you on a date," I said before walking off. "It's your fault he hasn't asked me yet ya know?" She yelled after me. I shook my head and gave her a thumbs up. That girl was living in her own fantasy world.
I went to the usual spot behind the school to meet Tyler, Joseph, Michael etc. . Karen was there thus time passionately kissing Tyler like her life depended on it. Gag! Joseph, Michael and Matt were exchanging jokes and laughing loudly. When he saw me Joseph's eyes lit up and I knew what he was thinking as a mischievous grin spread across his face. "Wanna do that?" He asked walking towards me. "No thanks. Maybe another time," I said winking at him. He laughed holding my hands and looking down at me. I smiled at him. "Ugh here's getting so mushy," Matt scoffed.
"Why are you here?" Karen sneered at me. "Karen why can't you just believe me? Its been two weeks and nothing has happened between Tyler and I," I said frustrated. "She has a point Karen," Joseph said. "Yeah Karen just leave it," Michael said. Karen sighed and walked towards me. I stood waiting for her next move but instead she hugged me and apologized so I hugged her back and apologized. "Finally," Tyler breathed as he wrapped his arms around his girlfriend's waist.

Tyler, me, Karen and Joseph walked through the park gates. It had been three weeks since mine and Joseph's date and now we were we all going to the fair which had set up in the same park Joseph and I had went to. Karen and I went to find the token booths and buy tokens for us while Tyler and Joseph went off to find food stalls. We met back at the entrance. Karen and I had bought each of us fifteen ride tokens and Joseph and Tyler had two crates of chips and drinks for each of us. We found a bench and Joseph and I shared a crate of chips while Tyler and Karen did the same. "We haven't had much time to hang out together outside school you know?" Joseph said dipping a chip into the ketchup. "I know. I've been joining clubs so I can get into Yale while still trying get good grades," I explained. "I know. Just don't stress yourself out. Please." I smiled and entwined my fingers with his. "I won't."
Tyler and I went in the haunted house because Karen and Joseph were too afraid to go in. The "scares" were pretty boring so Tyler and I talked through the ride ignoring the skeletons and zombies jumping at us. "He really likes you ya know?" Tyler said as a toy bat flapped around us. "I don't know about really like but I know he likes me," I replied. "I'm serious Mia. He never shuts up about you. Its always "she's so gorgeous", " I won't ever hurt her", "all I want is to make her happy". It's Mia, Mia, Mia 24/7. Just marry him already," Tyler rants and I breakdown laughing. The ride came to an end and Tyler and I stumbled out dying with laughter. Joseph glared at Tyler and Karen glared at me. Karen walked over claiming Tyler by wrapping her arms around him and kissing him. I rolled my eyes and walked toward Joseph who had his arms folded and stared at the sky like he didn't care. "Stop the charade," I said laughing. "Huh?! I don't know what you're talking about," he responded but his eyes couldn't meet mine. "Okay," I said walking off toward a roller coaster with large loops, fake fire and dark tunnels. I felt his gaze burn in the back of my head and soon he was next to me with Tyler and Karen in tow.
We all got on the roller coaster this time with Me and Karen in a carriage and Tyler and Joseph in the carriage behind. The ride began and I was so pumped. "You know you don't have to worry about me and Tyler," I said to Karen as the ride climbed a steep slope. "And why is that when you guys are always laughing and hanging out with each other?" Karen said. "Because I like Joseph," I said. "Really?" Karen replied in shock. Where was this girl living? I didn't have time to reply as the roller coaster flew at top speed down the slope. I screamed waving my hands in the air, my stomach felt like in was my throat but the thrill was so much I couldn't help screaming from excitement. Karen clung to the rail with her eyes squeezed shut. Tyler and Joseph were laughing behind us, also waving their hands in the air. The ride slowed as we approach a dark tunnel. Little children started screaming so I had to shout for Karen to hear me. "Where have you been living?! We've already been on a date!" I yelled over the little brats. "Really?! I know he likes you but I didn't know you felt the same way! That's such a relief!" Karen yelled back. The guys were yelling too but all I could hear was 'dude', 'Shut up' and 'Like'. I gave up trying to hear their conversation and enjoyed the rest of the ride.

I parked in the driveway when I got home and went inside. It was pretty quiet but that was because mom and dad were having a movie night in their room. I snuck a slice of pizza from the fair into Tyrell's room and pounced on him. "What the-" I clamped his mouth shut with my hand and he bit my hand. "What are you doing?!" He hissed. "Pizza?" I asked showing him the slice. He grinned and we split it devouring the cheesy goodness. "Movie marathon?" He asked and I grinned nodding. He flipped on his TV and put on terminator salvation. He took his stash of chocolate and biscuits from his wardrobe and we feasted for the rest of the night while watching movie after movie.
