"You want to meet him?" I sipped my ice tea.
"Yes." She nodded eating some of her eggs. "Is that a problem?"
I nodded. "Yes. That's a problem. Don't get me wrong, Jordan is a nice guy, he's perfect in my eyes. But I just don't think it's the right time. Like, we literally just started dating."
"If he's perfect, then what's the matter with us meeting him."
"Mom." I sighed. "We just made it official a couple of days ago. I don't want y'all to meet him, like I'm forcing it. I just want to take it slow on you and daddy meeting him."
She sighed. "Okay, okay. I understand where your coming from and I'm not going to rush you. Just when the time is right let me know. I really want to meet the boy, who has my daughter head over heels." She smiled.
"Whatever mom." I flagged her chuckling a bit. "He don't have me head over heels."
"Yes he does." She are more of her food. "Ooh, that's a cute necklace. Where you get that from?"
I touched the necklace on my neck, forgetting it was there.
"Umm. Jordan got it for me."
She smiled. "Ooo. He must really like you, he's buying you necklaces. And you know it cost some money. Where did he get it from?"
"He got it from Kay Jewelers. He gave it to me the day he asked me to be his girlfriend." I smiled just thinking about it.
"I really can't wait to meet this gentleman. Is he something special?"
I smiled nodding. "Yes mommy. He really is."
"Special enough for you to give him the cookie?"
I gasped. "Mom! Don't ask me anything like that." I chuckled shaking my head.
She put her hands in surrender laughing. "It's just a question?"
"A question you shouldn't ask me. Now let's change the subject. How was your trip to Hawaii?"

I sat at the table taking a bite of my pancake. My mom been left, we both caught up on things about each other and whatnot.
I was ready to go, so I texted Jordan.
I'm ready to go, can you come pick me up?-11-38
