Chapter 9

     "Yerin-ah, where are you?" Joy asked after Yerin picked her phone up. "I'm in our dorm." She said excitedly, "I'm alone Sooyoung-ah." She continued giggling. "Yah! Why aren't you practicing right now? You should be in your company right now." Joy said. "I won't attend MMA tomorrow. Let's be friendship goals. Let's hang-out tomorrow since we won't be attending." Yerin replied. "Why? Are you crazy? Why won't you gonna attend?!" Joy asked seriously.

     "Sooyoung-ah," clearing her throat. "The truth is," she said to suspense Joy, "I sprained my left foot. Waah Joy-ah it's so painful!" she grimaced as if she was really in pain. "What? How did you injure yourself?!" Joy asked in concern. "I'll tell you if you go here at our dorm. I can't speak any longer, my feet really hurts-aww." Yerin said over reacting so Joy would go immediately to her before ending the call. Joy knows that it was all acting, she knows Yerin that well.

     "Unnie, I'll go home alone now. Thank you for accompanying me. Take care!" Joy waved to Hyemin after she goes out of the car. They already arrived on Yerin's dorm. Hyemin waved back to her. "Okay, Take care too, okay?"

     "Sooyoung-ah!" Yerin excitedly welcomed her in their dorm. "I miss you!" Yerin hugged Joy immediately. "Yah! You said you're in pain a while ago." Joy stared at her after the hug. "I'm okay now, you're here." She grins to her. "Oh, Stop!" Joy trying not to curse being grossed out on Yerin's grinning.

     "What did you bring?" Yerin asked taking the basket and plastic bags that Joy was carrying. "A lot." Joy briefly replied observing Yerin's feet as she walk to the center table and she proved that Yerin really sprained her left foot. "When did you injure yourself?" She took the drinks out of the plastic bag and opened chilsung for Yerin and for herself. "Thank you" Yerin accepted the drink. "When you blacked-out during MAMA." Yerin said without hesitation. "What?!" Joy exclaimed even before she take a sip of the chilsung. "I injured myself when I tried to catch you from falling. I'm wearing heels that time," Yerin looking at the ceiling remembering pieces of memories she had, "and also we're going down the stairs that time. I lost my balance." She opens the television with the remote control in her hand as if she was telling a typical story. Joy was bewildered for a while thinking that it's because of her again.

     After a few seconds of reflecting she murmured, "Mianhae" and lowered her head tapping the tap of the can with her index finger. "Yah, that's why you should be nicer to me now. I'll risk my career for you." Yerin said. Joy looked at Yerin who was currently eating the tteokboki she bought then sighed deeply. She feels so sorry for her.

     "Yah, don't think of it too much, I'm recovering now." Yerin offered the tteokboki she was eating to Joy, "Say- ah" Joy opened her mouth accepting the food. "Yah, I can't stop thinking about it now thinking that you won't be there to accept your awards." She pouted to Yerin after she chews the tteokboki. "You won't be there too, so it's just okay for me. Let's watch MMA together tomorrow here. I'll cling around you as much as I can, okay?" Yerin opens another tupperware of tteokboki for Joy. "Okay" Joy nodded feeling down.

     Joy was still thinking about everything last MAMA 2017. She can't rub it all off of her mind. Although people around her say it's not a big deal but it is for her. 

     She suddenly remembered that she forgot to tell Yerin that the basket of brownies she brought is for GFriend's members and not for Yerin so she texted her.

     She still don't want to go home with her mind full of thoughts, she don't want to welcome her members in their dorm looking so spaced out. So she decided to take a walk in Han River. She's freeing her thought while observing the bright lights, the people talking, the teen-agers in their skateboards and a bunch of boys playing basketball.

     "It's nice. It's nice. It's nice." She repeats as she finally closes her eyes and let tears fall in her cheeks. She sighed deeply and wiped her tears off.

     She recalls everything that happened that day and remembers what Jungkook said, "Do you know that small restaurant near Han River? It's good to eat there alone they've got special place for celebrities, convenient to hide on paparazzi and not to mention that the food is really delicious there." And she chuckles alone remembering it. She got an idea to look for that restaurant so she decided to go to a midnight street where all the people are still fully active and awake near the Han River. She checked her watch before continuing walking '11:38 pm'. Her members will be arriving at around 3 am, she still have time.

    Joy was sure that the restaurant that Jungkook told her was one of the restaurants around the street but she's not sure which one. She looked around but it was hard to look for it by just reading the names of the restaurants, unfortunately she can't go in and out of the restaurants because some people may recognize her and also the issue last MAMA 2017 is still fresh in people's mind. She decided to go home since she can see that it's impossible to know where the restaurant is.

     She started walking slouching, when someone she thinks she knows appeared on her peripheral vision across the street. She stared at the person walking across from her and just seeing the person's side profile, she was sure, it's Jungkook.
