Happy Saturday! Don't forget to hit that little star and spread the word :)
-Nikki xxI decided that since I have my first date (not date) tonight, I'd obviously have to have Ellie help me get ready.
Instead, it's about five o'clock and still nothing has gotten done. She lays on one side of the bed scrolling through her phone, and I'm on the floor with my legs resting on the bed.
"So any thoughts about how you're going to do your hair?" She asks, trying to start a conversation.
"Nah." I casually answer, scrolling through Instagram, sending her pictures since I'm too lazy to get up and show her.
"That's fine, you got time."
The doorbell interrupts the comfortable silence and we both bolt up, "I thought he wasn't suppose to be here until six thirty-ish at least?"
I shrug, briskly sliding my feet across the floor. Of course, Ellie follows close behind.
I keep my footsteps silent, considering nobody else is home, and examine the door from far, looking for a silhouette.
"I don't see anybody?" Ellie looks for a figure too.
The doorbell rings again and I grab the closest thing to me which happens to be a small house plant, and shove it at Ellie.
"What the hell is this for?" She laughs, looking at the plant.
"You can use it to smash them in the head. Just in case."
She rolls her eyes and I notice a tiny figure on the other side, "Wait, hold it, I think I know who it is."
I swing open the door to see Juliet standing on the other side, "Hi Brooke."
I keep my hand rested on the door handle and step aside, "Hey Juliet, come on in."
She doesn't take any steps in and sighs, "I just got back from school and I have some map colouring to do for homework," she lifts the big box in her arms to my attention, "I was just told to drop this off for you. Jaxi said you were doing a project together and apparently these are all the supplies for when he picks you up tonight to go to the library."
Ellie and I exchange looks, as I slowly grab the box from her grasp, "Thanks Juliet." I say slowly.
She waves behind her head and makes her way across the lawn.
"The library?" Ellie asks as I shut the door.
I narrow my eyes to the box and bring it up the stairs, "She said there were supplies in here, but feel it, it's not heavy."
She takes it from my arms and into my room, setting it on the edge of my bed, "You're definitely not wrong," she agrees. She sits behind it and I stay standing in front of it.
I frown and slice the piece of tape with my nail, lifting the lid.
"Oh my-"
Ellie pops her head out from the side of the box, "Surprise!"
My jaw drops at the black dress from the other day staring back at me, "You're joking."
She shakes her head grinning, "I'm sorry, it's just he asked me what he should get you to wear and then that came to mind and I know I should've told you,"
"El."
"But he said not to,"
"Ellie."
"and that you would be so happy if you didn't know and-"
