**Warning: A little tiny mention of puke in the beginning**
Jaxon's P.O.V
I reach over and grab her hand, trying to see if she's sweating. Instead, grabbing her hand give me chills down my spine and I feel my heart begin to race in my chest. "Your hands are freezing." That's about all I can get out without sounding like a total dork. She ignores the comment and allows my hand to linger. I realize how awkward it is and entwine my fingers with hers, hoping to make her feel a bit better.
I glance over and even from the dark that's now starting to fall over the sky, I can see her face becoming pale.
"I think I'm going to throw up."
I pull over to the side and she holds the bag close to her, "I'm so sorry," she says before bringing the bag up to her mouth.
I try my best to be supportive and hold her hair back, turning away from the scene, "No it's fine, don't even worry about it."
I may seem calm on the outside, but on the inside I'm in complete panic. Is she going to be okay?
She lifts her head and leans it back on the seat, letting a tear roll down her cheek. My heart aches watching her and I continue the drive to her house.
Once we do make it, I help her inside and to her room.
She locks herself in the bathroom, getting dressed and brushing her teeth. I decide to take it upon myself to look around while I wait, "How long did you say your parents are gone for?" I ask, looking at the picture of her and her family on top of a dresser.
"I'm pretty sure they'll be back by Friday." She calls out, shutting the faucet.
She drags herself out in a baggy black shirt and blue pajama bottoms. Her makeup is off, and her hair's tied back in a loose elastic; I'm guessing so I don't have to hold her hair back again.
"Thanks for the ride home," she says quietly, crawling into bed.
Even having her feeling completely horrible, I can't help but keep my eyes on hers, "Are you going to be okay?" I ask worried about leaving her alone.
She pulls the covers up to her neck, shivering slightly, "I think I'll be fine. Do you think you could get your mom to call in for me tomorrow?"
I nod, setting another blanket over her, "But are you sure you're okay?"
She forced a smile, "Yeah. I'm sorry again."
I sit on the edge of her bed and give a chuckle, "What are you sorry for?"
She shrugs and fiddles with her thumbs, "I know you were looking forward to tonight and I ruined it. I'm also sorry I threw up in front of you and you had to hold my hair back. I also apologize for it being in a Taco Bell bag in your car-"
I set my hand on top of hers and shake my head, "You don't have to apologize. You're sick, that's not your fault."
She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, "Could you also make Ellie aware that I won't be at school so she doesn't waste time driving here to pick me up in the morning?"
"Of course." I make a mental note of it.
"I also need you to grab my homework, I can't miss out on anything."
"You're going to have energy to do homework?" Even when I'm not sick I can't find energy to do homework.
"I have to find the energy."
